I haven't been able to get this question answered in the SONY forum.

    I just bought a SONY Z -- which I absolutely Love!!!

But at home I have it hooked up to a 27" monitor and want an external wireless keyboard. I really want ot avoid a mouse per se.

A number of people have suggested the following Apple items:

    1. Apple wireless Keyboard "matches" the SONY Z in appearance. It says you need a Mac to use it -- but I presume not. Will it be hard for me to figure out how to use it with the SONY? . The web page makes no mention that I could find of whether the keys were back lit or not. Are they?

Apple - Apple Wireless Keyboard - Explore the cable-free, incredibly thin keyboard.

2, Apple track pad designed to sit right next to the wireless keyboard.

Apple - Magic Trackpad - The Multi-Touch trackpad for your desktop.

I think I am sold on these two products.

Can anyone tell me how to use it with the SONY Z since it is clear Apple will not provide such instructions?

I have the wired Apple keyboard (with the numpad) and it works just fine on my T410, if that's of any help.

I use an Apple Wireless KB everyday with Windows. It's just a matter of having patience when trying to pair them. Now about the Apple Trackpad thing... maybe you can steal (or barrow, whichever sounds better) a driver for it from the boot camp installer. You know, kind of extract it from the boot camp installer so you don't have to install all the other.

Also, download and install newest Widdcomm Bluetooth suite from Broadcom. Sony includes ALPS BT modules internally, but all the ALPS modules are of Broadcom reference, so the Widdcomm stack works REALLY well.

not sure if u want to spend about $160, but logitech makes a beautiful keyboard that has what u are askin for.

logitech also makes this one with a trackpad, but it says it's made for the ps3. u might be able to sync it somehow if yur laptop has bluetooth.

As posted earlier in the thread -- apparantly Logitech is having serious quality control issues with this recently. Just click on the reviews at the link you gave and click on to order them "newest first" After the first couple of reviews, ome right after the other of posters are complaining about it breaking down very fast.

I wouldn't bet on the multitouch gestures working in Windows... could be wrong though.
