Looking for a wired mouse that has a firm scrolling wheel and works smoothly on almost any surface (glass is optional), with preferably 4+ buttons. Left/right scrolling is optional. Price is best bang for your buck in terms of durability. Does anyone have any recommendations?

ATM I have a Microsoft M3000 mouse http://linhkiennotebook.com/upload/product/1358475680.jpg and it "works" on every surface, but on certain tables it skips and stutters around.

I would recommend either the Razer Deathadder or the Razer Taipan. The Taipan is more sensitive and has more buttons, but the Deathadder costs less. Razer is well known to be a quality brand for gaming peripherals.

Didn't really consider gaming mice, but I'll look at the Razer. How about regular mice?

If you are happy with your mouse, maybe just buy a mouse pad.

Also if you want a mouse to work on lots of different surfaces, laser works better than optical.

This one meets your criteria and is cheap, too. Last time I looked, they were going for less than $20 on Amazon.
