My Macbook only has two USB ports, Cables are driving my nuts, because I sit in 20 different positions on my couch, and always put my laptop down on the table when i play my xbox, and then on the couch to the left of my, and to the right of me.

I'm looking for something, that I can plug possibly my HDD into, if not, atleast some of my flash drives, a wireless Xbox Controller Receiver, Cable for my iPod, Cable for my phone, ect.

Ideally, this would just have a little dongle thingie that I can plug into my MB and forget, something small enough so that when I get my MBP, I can internally solder it to the mobo.

So, do they make wireless USB hubs?
What would the latency be like with those, would it be okay to use with a xbox controller, or would the 'lag' be too much?

Exactly, except the USB dongle is friggin huge. I was thinking a small mouse type one lol.
I'm sure it can be soldiered directly to the internal ports in the MBP.

A USB 'Bridge' is what I meant to explain above. HDDs can be put on a NAS I forgot about that.

not wireless, but there are ethernet port connected USB hubs that I'm sure can be made to speak wifi with the right combination of adapters.

wireless USB isn't there yet... the speeds are way slower than USB2.0 and range sucks too....

so you want to use external HDD and other USB devices? how about getting a powered 7-port USB hub, and a long single USB wire going from the hub to the laptop... you still have to move your stuff around, but less wires

That's not accurate at all. Dell is, or was, offering wireless USB built into your laptop, and Best Buy even sells the hubs there in the store.

How about a wireless router with built-in USB ports? Sorry I can't recommend anything in particular, but I know these things exist and let you, say, share a USB flash drive over a WI-FI network.
