Does this product exist?

Is there a Bluetooth receiver that allows you to plug in any headphones you want? I have some Sennheiser headphones that I love to death, but are completely ruined by the buzzing sound that my integrated sound solution makes.

Apparently, sound sent to a Bluetooth device however will remove this problem, since the sound data is Digital until it gets to the receiver, thereby keeping the signal 'clean' of any interference from my laptop's components.

Apparently a headphone amplifier can fix this problem, but I've also heard that the extra power a headphone amp adds can damage your headphones if you don't remove them properly.

ahh that SoundPilot™ Bluetooth Stereo Headphones and Controller S705 is exactly what I wanted. But.. is there anything more.... basic? I imagine that when that soundpilot thing comes out its going to be very expensive.

I would not assume that the noise you have when you connect your headphone directly would go away with Bluetooth.

As for your second mention of a headphone amplifier connected to the earphones output of your notebook, the noise will still be present.

Assuming you have a Bluetooth card in your notebook, you need to find a Bluetooth Audio Receiver with Headphone Amplifier combined or separate.

Maybe a search at Bluetooth.org will provide some results.

 

ah ok, thanks. I'll begin googling The biggest barrier I had to this was not knowing what to search for.

However, if anyone knows of any other products that do this, I would be very grateful.

All I want is a basic reciever, with volume control, a headphone jack for PC headphones, and thats it! the thing would connect to your PC wirelessly. I don't want to buy wireless headphones because the sennheiser headphones I have are worth $450 US, and their sound quality is magnificent.

I'd love to be able to walk around with these on, do some running on a treadmill without a cord. The sound that comes out of nearly all Bluetooth headphones currently sold don't even come close to the quality of these. I would have figured this type of product would have been sold by many companies, but, unless I'm looking in the wrong places, it doesn't seem to be that way.

 

Look for a company called iTech - they make plenty of units that are just "receiver" and have a 3.5mm connector for any headphones/portable speakers.

Realize that much of the poor sound quality coming out of bluetooth products isn't always so much the monitors that are used but the bluetooth system itself. We got into a debate on the bluetooth section of the Howardforums website over whether it made sense to introduce the potential of crappy sound quality via bluetooth to listen w/ any monitors costing over $100. My take is if your monitors are "that good" you may be disappointed connecting them to a bluetooth receiver because of the sound degradation that can happen. BTW- I'm NOT talking about the specs on paper of the BT protocols, but real-world experiences of audio quality through bluetooth, which sounds pretty good for most people, but disappointing to most audiophiles using $$$ hardware.

 

Radio frequency also has a big effect on BT. Other devices (laptops, phones, PDAs, microwave ovens, etc.) can interfere with BT sound quality.

 

Well said rEVOLVE, I just notice what kind of headphones he plan on using.

Maybe as a suggestion to Lt.Glare, try to buy your requirements from a vendor that will permit you to return the product for a full refund if you are not satisfied with the sound.
