    Happy July 4th!

I have a Creative Vado HD camcorder with USB plug and internal memory only. What are the options to download the video files to a portable storage device? I don't want to carry a laptop with me. I've read about the Wolverine and other devices. Will an Ipod Touch 2G or Sandisk Sansa Fuze work? I'm looking for the least expensive options.

    Thanks for your creative input!

You can transfer video to any storage device large enough to hold the file, but you'll probably need a notebook or desktop to make the actual transfer of the file unless your camcorder will dump the file directly to an external card, HD or SSD without needing a transfer system. Most video files, even MP4's, aren't small, so make sure whatever you use has at least enough to hold the file and then some - there is always less space available than any given drive is rated for. For example, a 750gb external holds actualy 698gb of data. I generally use a drive or card that'll hold at least a Gig more than I know the file size is.

Don't automatically assume that an SSD will work, or an IPOD either - check the cam manual to be sure what drives/storage media types you can output to without a transfer system and with one. SSD's won't always work as a storage medium without using a PC to transfer the files.
