What are some of the more durable MP3 players out there?? I would mainly be using it in my car, so I'm not so concerned with size, in fact, bigger might be better as it would be easier to use...
thx

SanDisk may not be as high tech as Ipods but they have pretty good pricing when compared to bigger brands. If all you want is an mp3 player for the car and not waste time with watching movies and 30Gb hard drives, then give them a look. You can have an E serie Sandisk Sansa mp3 for pretty cheap.

yup sandisk are good and they even have a microSD slot so you can expand the memory by 1 or 2GB

I've had a Sandisk Sansa E280 since it came out a little over a year ago I think. It is great. I carry it my pocket almost everyday and it hasn't broke yet, it seem very durable. The microSD slot is great too. You can have a total of 10GB with the addition of a 2GB SD card.
Best part is I think you can get it for < $150 today. I've seen in pretty close to $100 at times. Depend on the sale. When I bought mine, it was $250 and I thought it was well worth it. -
the 30gb Zune is $99 on woot.com

Is the Zune Flash based or HDD bases? Caus a regular car use will account for a lot more vibrations and could wear out he HDD more quickly...

there is no 30GB flash yet
vibration doesnt really kill drives unless it is very intense like say dropping it on the floor but the zune and others are also cushioned to withstand most light drops so they will definitely take car trips. also many cars come with optional ipod docks from brand new and many ipods are hdd based. -

Yea I'd say go with a 30gb Zune, as the plastic casing on them is very scratch resistant and durable. You don't hafta worry about babying it.

Or if you want a bigger size you could wait for the zune 80 to come out November 3rd with 80GB. Exactly like the zune 30, but with 80GB. It's $250 i believe.
