DVD-R DL or DVD+R DL? Which is better for burning videos and pictures and possibly some music?

    What's the best/most reliable/longest-lasting brand or type?

+ is meant to be better for storage and - for video playback, but then again with modern drives which can play both equally well so there really are no differences. Be more concerned with the brand

As for good brands, there are a couple. At the moment I use Sony as they were 50 for £15. There is a Japanese brand which I've... tip of tongue...

Lastly, a 600+ member should know where the search function is ;) This topic has been covered and answered many times

Weell..I checked the previous posts, and also the main post in the TY faq http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=178622
Haven't gone thru the rest yet - it's too long

Unfortunately, I'm having trouble finding any Taiyo Yuden DVD+R DL or even DVD-R DL. Neither Rima.com nor supermediastore.com has any from what I can find. Where would I get some in the US?

    Thanks

I believe some of the Fuji's are Taiyo Yuden rebranded, make sure it says made in Japan and not Taiwan. Generally most of the name brand DVDs -/+ are decent and are rebranded from different companies.

Ones to avoid are Memorex, Maxell, and GQ.

I recommend Taiyo Yuden, Ritek, Verbatims, or TDK. Generally works well for me.

Yea, I'm going to get some Verbatim DVD+R DLs. Apparently Taiyo doesn't make DL anymore...or something.
