    Hi!
I've got a Sata II Seagate 500GB drive fitted into an ACRyan E-Sata enclosure, connected to my Thinkpad via a Sunix ExpressCard. The jumper on the drive has been removed to enable 3gb/s speed. When the drive is booted, it shows up as 3gb/s which is what I want, but after some time passes, after I've read a certain amount of data from the drive (listened to mp3s, video editing etc). The drive changes to 1.5gb/s and remains that way until I reboot. I've noticed that the drive reverts to 1.5G as soon as I start video editing, probably since the video files have more bandwidth, while it takes a while when I'm just listening to my mp3 library.

The "chip" on the ExpressCard is called JMicron JMB36X Raid Controller. The enclosure and expresscard also says that it supports Sata II speed (3G).

Any ideas on why this happens?

Is there any way to get 3G all the time?

    Appreciate any help or comment.
