Well, with my ER 6i earphones dead in one ear, it's time to look for some new earphones. The problem I had with the ER 6i is that the cord would often get pulled by mistake. Over time, this must have worn down the connection inside my left earphone so the wire wasn't making contact. What earphones would you guys recommend that have breakaway or user replaceable wires? I want to get a pair of earphones where pulling on the wire won't render the earphone dead in a year.

    Budget-wise, I'm looking for a pair that's around a $100.

So far, I've been looking at the Ultimate Ears Super fi 3. They appear to have user replaceable wires. Would this fix my problem of damage to the earphone through accidentally pulling on the wires?

    Thanks.

Edit: Should I worry about Ultimate Ears warning about not using them for more than an hour a day? It seems kind of pointless to get them if that's a real problem.

If you do an accidental tug, your wire will still get damaged with the replacable in ear phones, but of course they're replaceable! and usually the company warranty will cover that.
