I apologize if this isn't M18x specific and fully expect it to be moved somewhere else. I have been using a Razer Nostromo/Belkin N52 for roughly a year now because it is much more comfortable to use than the M18x keyboard, especially since on the table the computer is usually flush with my upper torso and my left and right hands flank the sides of it, making it incredibly awkward to contort your arm and bend your wrist at a 90 angle up and over its 3 inch height, higher if elevated like mine is. For a while there were really only a few choices if you wanted a gaming keypad, it was either the Nostromo or Logitech's G13. I wen't with the Nostromo as I like the form factor better, and many who have tried both prefer it. Although it served the job, it did so just ok, with mushy buttons that would stick and ergonomics that aren't very accommodating to different hand sizes and or preferred angles. After using it for a few hours I feel as though I have temporary carpal tunnel syndrome, in fact in one of the video responses to a review a user stated that after using it they actually developed carpal tunnel syndrome. It would also slide around quite a bit, as the following reviewer observes in what I consider to be the best comparison between the G13 and the Nostromo:

Well, Razer seems to have addressed MOST of these issues with its successor to the Nostromo, the Orbweaver. It has mechanical keys, a large rubber base, and adjustable ergonomics. I'm pretty excited as I have been waiting for a better keypad to come out for a while now and I believe that this is it. I ordered one from neutronusa.com, the lowest price from the most reputable source I could find on the net, about $114. shipped. Expensive, but amazon.com, whom I usually buy everything from, is asking $140 when California taxes are applied. Yes it is overpriced, but if like me you spend a few hours a day gaming, it is money well spent.

    Check it out!

Nice writeup brother vulcan. I considered getting one of these last month, but ended up going with a full mechanical kb instead (Corsair K90 I believe... I'm terrible with names lol.) I might pick one of these up for gaming though, as it looks pretty comfortable to use.

I like it because it is more compact than a keyboard, as I am mobile with my ware. And yes they do need a model you use with your right hand. Or you could get adventurous and learn to use the mouse with your right hand!

For anyone looking at this item, Razer just only came out with a "Stealth" version 12 hours ago that has 45g keys versus the standard 50g and 2mm shorter distance, and its supposed to be quiet. Although I am still awaiting the arrival of the standard model I will likely return or keep as a spare. Razer claims that the Stealth Edition is a Razer store only exclusive so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on it, doing some web-sleuthing I found a coupon that DOES WORK and gives you free shipping.

All you have to do is left click on the coupon, "Free Shipping Razer Deal", doing that brings you to the razer site, from there you purchase the Orbweaver Stealth and the coupon is automatically applied. Saved me $17 to California.
