I need to get a DVDRW. When I got my laptop I opted not to get one because dual layer wasn't an option.

So now I either need an external enclosure to put a NEC DVDRW in, or a recommendation on an external drive (maybe even slim) that is dual layer but not too pricey.

I don't need to move it around, so size aint an issue, but if I can get a slim one that is good (and not pay much more) why not!

The LaCie slim 8x DVD-R/2.4X DL USB2 powered drive is a good choice for $200, its as small as a DVD-R burner can be.

I/O Magic and Iomega had sales a few weeks ago for a 16x dual layer 4x DL Usb 2 drive for under 100 USD.

Check in the morning to see if it is back on sale.
