I'm planning to get an external hard drive. I will either go with the Seagate FreeAgent Go or WD My Passport. I'm planning on purchasing the 500GB, but I have a question.

I have a MBP, and I'm wondering if I can partition the external HD. I want to partition space for Time Machine, and have the other space for whatever else I want to put on there. Is this possible?

If not, then it'd be almost pointless to get a portable external HD just for Time Machine.

    Thanks in advance!
