    I was wondering is Firewire connection better to use for this or is USB 2.0 better? I'd like to store DVD movies on my external drive. I don't want to spend more then 30 either but I'm looking on newegg and see many options under 30$

    They do have some firewire and USB options. I have a USB 2.0 and it works fine for me, but I hust use it for backups.
