Greetings,
I saw on XIOTIC's options for Sager NP8651, an external 15.6" mobile monitor. They use an Asus MB168B, which has a better part MB168B+, and both have problems with Win 7(!)
After 30 minutes and asking a XIOTIC rep (1) why not the MB168+model instead of M B168 and (2) will either work on Win 7, he said he did not know. I can get a cheap 24" (or 2) for at home, but the 15.6" mobile size for al case pc OR mobile monitor sounds like a best practice to avoid early replacements: maybe even a couple (like XIOTIC has options to buy one or two) depending on the situation.
However, the MAIN question is the limits on hooking up a pc USB 3 port monitor to Win 7, and does anyone have any experience with either of these monitors AND Win 7? I thought the world was on Win 7, so it's kind of confusing to me. Maybe Power Notebooks will know(?) Since Win 7 was so good, I'm expecting Win 10 to be a dud, statistically speaking. Either way, I'm not holding my breath until 2020 when I will have a contingency plan by then hopefully for my OS blues.
TIA!

I have the ASUS MB168 for a couple of days i have no problem with 2 laptops and Win 7. One of them does not have native USB3 but uses an expresdcard for UB3 powered from an USB2 port.
It seems important to upgrade the USB3 chipset drivers to the latest, as emphatized by the installation software of this portable monitor.Starlight5 likes this. -
Previous generations could not run fullscreen video smoothly. How is this one?

I've just watched some HD videos from Youtube and it seems fine to me.
Anyway, i have bought this stuff for main usage as a second monitor for my Elitebook on the go and it is intended for professionnal stuff (Word, Excel, PalmDesktop, etc).
The really cool thing is the very light weight (800 g without the sleeve).
