    Hi everyone,

I'm a long time desktop user, but have little experience with laptops. I just got a Vostro 1500 this month with the 8600m gt, so I've been recently looking into external mice for gaming purposes.

I want to ideally use a mouse which is:
    - wired
    - high DPI (1600dpi minimum) and refresh rate (1000hz preferred)
    - has a very very low power draw, so it doesn't waste batteries

So I've been wondering - are "notebook" mice just smaller in size or do they also engineer them to use less power than traditional "dekstop" mice??

I own a Razer DeathAdder (and love it to death - no pun intended), and previously used a Logitech MX518, which is still around the house, unused.

Would I be just as well - off in terms of power usage using my MX518 or buying another DeathAdder for the Vostro 1500 as with say, something like the Logitech V150?

I just don't want my batteries drained by a mouse, but yet want a pretty high-performing mouse.

Has anyone used the notebook version of the OCZ Equalizer? It looks interesting, but I'm wondering if it's a power hog.

    Any thoughts / suggestions?

    Thanks!

Even if a USB mouse uses all the full 500mA & 5V all the time, it'd only cut about 10 minutes off a 3 hours battery.
