    External battery voltage question.

    You will be fine, 0.5 of a volt will be well within the notebooks power adaptor tolerances.

    Actually 18.5 volts + or - 5% is 0.925 volts, so you should be fine.

    I suppose it must have worked as you didnt come back to blame. Let us all know if your computerr got fried.

    As my secondary battery arrived today, I will see if the external battery works, and will let you know.

    Update: I connected the battery and it seems to provide the power, but it does not charge the main battery.

    you've got the right voltage but not enough juice ( Amperage ) so you don't have enough power to charge the battery.

    You just choose the right one, It will work fine. check your power adapter.
