Hi
Have connected my Toshiba X500(X505) to my external monitor and i could only get 1080 and 720P with HDMI, whats wrong?
Thanks in advance

Do you mean 1080i? That's pretty much the same as 720p. Perhaps your monitor does not support 1080p.
-
What is the native res of your monitor, and what interface are you using to connect to it?
What? No it isn't. 1080i would mean 1920x1080 @ 30Hz, and 720p means 1280x720 @ 60Hz. Huge difference. -
His native resolution is probably 1920*1080 considering only a handful go over.
And he mentions he's connected via HDMI. -
Hm seem to have glanced over that! Whoopsies.
This makes it even more interesting, since digital connections should give a list of various compatible resolutions.
If your native res is 1080p it might be best just to keep it there. If you're dying for a different resolution, you can try and create a custom one in your graphics card driver control panel. As you probably have an nvidia card, you can go to the nvidia control panel >> change resolution. Select your display and then click Customize >> Custom resolution. Type in what resolution you want and test it out. -
Thanks for your time guys
Yes my monitor is Full HD. Because some games is difficoult to run in native res i want to change to some better -
So the in-game resolution options only go from 1080 to 720? That is kind of weird, as it should give the option for 900 if it is only displaying options with the correct aspect ratio.
External monitor: only 1080 and 720P
