I'm looking for a external battery pack for my Acer 1501 I'm getting. The one I have seen made by N-charge is nice but they don't seem to have a acer aspire model, I'll be e-mailing them the specs to get possible options from them. But I'm wondering what other companies make suck things. There will be times when I travel that I'll want the extra power to have but don't want to keep changing batteries in the laptop.

Has anyone seen or use's such a thing or is this just not a good idea to begin with. Weight isn't a real concern since I'm use to hauling extra weight when traveling anyways and even if its to the office I can carry a few extra pounds.

    Hi,
I am looking for similar pack for my Sony PCG-GRT360ZG. I have e- mailed and called Electrovaya(makes Powerpack) and Valence. No luck so far. I have used 2 batteries instead. I hope you have better luck with communicating with these people.

Here's some that I found that have both Acer & Sony compatibility, but not sure of your specific models. Maybe a compatible model will be listed.

The N-Charge Power System II seems to list that the Sony Vaio GRT series notebooks is compatible with this device. Here's the compatibility list, on Page 6

Future shop in Canada deal with the N-charge models. They may be sold in the States then through Circuit City since thats who owns Future shop in Canada. They look like a nice package, or atleast the ones I have seen. The right size and shape to fit under a laptop to be out of the way.

I'll take a look at the sources you supplied and see what I can find. Sorry for not listing the model I am getting, its a Aspire 1501LCi.

    Thanks for the info.

Sorry, minor correction, Best Buy bought out Futureshop. Does Circuit City own Best Buy or are they seperate companies?
Actually, you did list the Acer model you were getting, I should have looked a bit harder...my bad.
