    a bucket of ice

I don't think there are any worthwhile coolers for a laptop that size under 20$. I saved a bunch of money on a cooler by just propping up my laptop and having a desk fan blow underneath it. works like a charm

I did the same thing. I also have an HDX18 with a QX9300. Prop the rear by taking out the battery and putting an empty small water bottle it it's place. Put a dual fan USB powered in between the front and the proped rear. Take off the remote and optical drive, working great for me.

Lift the back of the notebook up from the desk and let a fan bow air under it.

I'm using 2x25cm case fan wired to a 3-18V power brick in the back,
Cut 2 triangle from wood for under the notebooks legs to get it to sit in perfect angle to type
and to block the air from escaping on the side and force it to go in the notebook.

Can change fan speed/noise depending the cooling I want.

Cost nothing .. made it from leftover parts .. just took a bit time.

The point: .. just get some more air moving in the notebook.
