This is the wrong section, my apologies.

My answer (solution): Netgear N900 Router. It is dual band (speeds at 450mb/s), has many great reviews and is $149.99. Hope that helps!

Plug it in directly to your ethernet port...

The modem isn't in my room, otherwise I would. I could buy a longer Ethernet cable and route it into my room, but that's going to be a pain. I need a new modem anyway.

My question was answered in another thread.

I looked in the wireless and network section, just read a thread and found the exact same question. This is the wrong section, my bad.

I've updated the main post with my personal choice in modems.
