OK, I am getting my first laptop tonight[ :)], and I was wondering what accessories I will need. I was thinking a case for it and a mouse (I hate touchpads!) Will I need anything else? What case or mouse do you recommend?

    1. case

    2. mouse

    3. mousepad (if you have an optical mouse and take your laptop to different places, you are not guaranteed that your optical mouse will like all the surfaces it encounters)

    4. short rj45 cable (sometimes when you visit a library, you can avoid having to get a wifi login by just plugging in at the desk you're sitting at; this is what i do when i'm visiting a law library at a school that's not my alma mater)

I'd add backpack to that list...or other bag to tote it.

Although i am not a fan of tigerdirect.com and i dont reccommend anyone buying from them, they have a nice retractable cable set which includesa lot of nice cables. Here is the link, but i would try and find it at a different store than tigerdirect.com even if it means paying a few extra bucks for it.
