I've been using a regular wireless mouse for a long time and I think it's time to get myself a gaming mouse, but I have no idea what brands to look at. I would prefer something that has wireless capability, but I'm willing to go wired if it's too expensive.

I use a claw- semi palm grip so I wouldn't want something that's big or heavy.
I need about 3-5 extra buttons to bind some of my hotkeys to (excluding the left right click and wheel).

    Any suggestions? :)

If you use a claw-ish grip, the CoolerMaster Spawn is worth a look. Well priced and comfortable. but not too many extra buttons though...:-/

That is a palm-grip mouse to the hardcore! :p

The Mamba might be better suited to a semi-palm/semi-claw.

If you don't mind a wired mouse, the Logitech G500 is a great buy.

You can palm, claw, or anything in-between any mouse. It just depends on how the mouse feels for you.

I've never used the G700 and I'm sure it is a good wireless mouse based on how many people like it aside from the low battery life. But all the good gaming wireless mice are very expensive.

If you want something cheaper, go for the G400. From a pure gaming perspective (aside from if you need loads of buttons on the mouse) it is as good as it gets.

For a great every day usage and gaming mouse, the G500 is very good. But as far as gaming, it doesn't offer anything that the G400 already doesn't meet or exceed. Also I have owned lots of Logitech mice and my dad has too. My G500 was the first one of mine or my dad's that ever crapped out. The scroll wheel is not very gaming friendly, the weight system just adds unnecessary weight even when not used, and the sensor is placed very far forwards. Also the rough rubber texture might feel weird for some people. While "theoretically" not the best at gaming (I couldn't tell the difference even having them both plugged in at the same time, it is a gee-wiz mouse that has all the features.

You'd be surprised, i have to claw a G700 to get any semblance of a comfortable grip. I know it sounds weird, but you can definitely claw it. It might feel awkward to some though.

I'm thinking about getting the Razer Naga, but I don't actually need those 12 extra buttons. 9 would be more than enough. Does anyone own a Naga? If so, how are the buttons? I hope I don't accidentally press them with my thumb when I'm gripping the mouse.

You could get a naga hex, kind of middle ground, i personally loathe the shape, but that's just me as a pure palmer my bro in law swears by his naga. You'd have to try one to really know.
