The wire on my mouse is damaged, the PC won't read the mouse or it will sometimes short the rightside USB daugtherboard until windows cuts power to it.

I opened my mouse, this is the USB "connector" for the motherboard.

What is this cable called? DIN type connectors?

I have searched in google, this is the closest pic

5-pin Molex. I think it's a 0.1" pin spacing, but you should check the new plug housing before you buy it just to make sure.

This is what you want for the housing. The pins will be a separate deal...and you will need the removal tool to get the out without damaging them. If you need to change the pins altogether, then it's also a separate crimping tool to crimp on pins that small.

Perhaps. It's an eBay item so there's no guarantee its gonna work. But from liking at the photos you posted and the photo of the cable, they seem to share the same Molex connector. As long as the pin spacing is the same on both housings, then you're good.

i usually cut the cable resolder wires and tape over it, or hide it inside my mouse if theres enough room... mine usually fail at usb plug or at mouse... depends how tech savvy and picky about looks you are.
