So i have been putting off buying one because i really want to only buy a high-end one but i honestly can't afford a 100-300 dollar stick....or well I "could" afford one but that just isn't a wise investment with where i live and my resources. Anyone have any opinions on them? I really want to get one for IL2 and x-wing alliance. I have an xbox controller but that requires modding for i think both of them and it just isn't as fun. I also would LIKE the options of having a stick and throttle stick....more realistic and more buttons. Anyone have any ideas? I always have read reviews on them and they are a total crap shoot....or at least that is how it looks from reviews.

    As Always thanks!!!!

There are only really two types of gaming joysticks and flight controls. There are those that are low quality, and those that are high quality. The high quality ones feel really good in your hands, have a good weight to them, and last forever. They start at about $90 for the cheapest joystick brand new.

I only have experience with CH products joysticks, but they are top-notch. They make professional-grade joysticks for military and industrial applications. Their consumer gaming joysticks are extremely high quality and will last forever.

    CH brand?

I have read reviews on amazon and newegg of 200-300 dollar sticks that crap out in 6 months of heavy use :/ and it isn't a select few reviews. It is common from the trend i see.

What are decent low quality ones? I remember my wingman as a kid was decent....though it lost its centering hence why i throw it out. (i have read even the highend ones loose center stiffness after a year of solid use) I am also hard on joy sticks :/ I get into it :/

Get a yoke. More realistic, especially with the throttle quadrant. Get the pro flight yoke by saitek. I'm a real pilot, and it's a really nice controller.
