I used to have my monitor at the left side of my laptop but that just felt weird to move the mouse to the right and having it appear to the left monitor so i rearranged my entire desk to it was able to fit to my right. Though that also feels slightly awkward because of my mouse. But i guess i just have to get used to it.

keep it on the left and set your external to be your primary screen

I actually open the thread but the first post is gone ~~. I now have my laptop on right so it is closer to bed so I can use headphone when I am on bed(bed on right side and headphone cord is SHORT) .
My laptop ports actually make more sense if I put it on the left, but I like to use function key/touchpad when mouse hand is tired ( I use a external keyboard/mouse)
Anyone have a way to use intel igpu and set extend to left or right(withe windows)? machine with gpu can all do that easily(even can arrange to top or bottom. -

i used my laptop on the right and external as center main screen. I prefer center and right for two screens but i am right handed so i wonder if that is a reason. I prefer 3 screen center left and right but i am too broke to afford that

Maybe when I can afford a m4600 +dock -
This must just be my own weirdness, but recently I've discovered the wonders of a vertical display.
I have an external monitor on each side of the laptop. The left monitor I keep in vertical orientation (great for reading email, documents, web pages), the centre (laptop) and right monitor I keep in landscape.
I keep my primary web browsers (IE and Opera), documents and email open in the left monitor;
photoshop and dreamweaver in the centre/laptop;
visual studio, sql server, and other web browsers (chrome, firefox) in the right monitor; -
Laptop to the left of my LG 24" monitor, the LG as my primary. Works quite well. Find I don't use my laptop monitor much, it's all on the primary mainly.

I have my external monitor above my laptop.

Left & Right is the answer.
For people who extend you desktop to a external monitor? Left or right?
