ms sidewinder all the way............
but shoot who ever wrote the article......
go down to your local shop and try out the different types and get the one that is most comfortable.............
"better" in terms of gaming mice is generally crap used as a marketing ploy. -
i read razer is really good too....
-
yeah razer, logitech, ms, steel series............they are all pretty good. the main theing to look for in a mouse is comfort. if it isn't comfortable you are not going to play good with it..............i like my ms sidewinder ol mate down the road likes his copperhead.........what ever floats your boat mate.

Supermiguel, take into consideration what everyone says but do not make your decision of one persons post or even 10 peoples posts. Your best bet is to go to your local bestbuy, futureshop etc and try out mice from brands people recommend and see which is most comfortable for you. If the mouse performs amazingly while it isnt comfortable for you you will perform worse with it then a "worse" mouse that is comfortable.
One rule of themb with gaming mice, wireless + gaming = oxymoron and you pwned. (G7 is an exception unless you are near a wireless router) -
I use a MX518, great mouse!
I don't think a gaming mouse is gonna make you play better, but they are better built, and last longer. -
I have the 518 as well. It's been a great mouse for me. I am getting a G5 soon though.

If I was looking at a wired gaming mouse I would get the G5. It feels nice in the hand, pretty cheap, awesome specs, and you can modify the weights. I tried the G9 and the mouse was too flat for me, not enough of a hump. I know that this would cause me hand pain. The G7 seems nice but it is wireless, if that is a concern to you. Plus if you check out the reviews on Newegg and other places, it goes through the batteries very quickly and the battries are near impossible to find, even from Logitech directly. Some food for thought since I shopped around for mice a few weeks ago...

MX518 just owns the G series mainly due to low price

The G9 is pretty nice, but it does have a little flex on the grip shell -- if you can tolerate it, then the G9 should be fine.
Having bought over 8+ mice during the last year (Razers, Logitechs, Microsoft, etc...), the best I've used to date is the Ikari Steel Series Laser. Here's a picture of a the Steel Series (lower right) next to a few other mice I own:
The Steel Series supports all of the user's fingers in a relaxed, natural position (no need to wrap outside figuers around the mouse's right side since it has ergo supports for them). I've used it for multiple marathon gaming sessions with no ill-effects afterwards. The Steel Series has very little lift. I notice the G9 experience occasional cursor wiggle while just sitting stationary, but the Steel Series remains stable at all times. -
I use a G5 v2...great mouse, never had any real problems with it. In Canada the mx518 was still the same price as the G5 when I got mine (earlier this year), don't know if it's any cheaper now. Both are fine mice though.
My only complaint with the G5 is that the wheel mouse click is much more difficult to do than with my old mouse, due to the ability to move the wheel side to side as well. -
When you are playing fps games, the choice of your mouse depend on your sensitivity. I'm playing CSS with a really low sens (1.2 ingame). I had a razer copperhead but with a such low sens and the Laser technology, i had some inertia. So if you are low sens, avoid laser.
That's why the new mouses for low sens are now with 3G optic technology like the Razer deathadder. I'm currently using it and i love it.
I won't say you G5 is worst than a deathadder... and just want to inform you that your sensitivity and the way you play are important. (i dislike the G5 because there are not enough button from my point of view for exemple) -
Don't like cords or wireless, trackball is all what I can work with, so Logitech trackball.

I have a G9 and it's been pretty good to me so far. I think it has more features per square inch than any other mouse out there right now. (feel free to correct me)
