    Hi guys!

My G602 recently died on me. It was a great mouse and I loved it. I was looking into buying another one but tried to look for other alternatives as well and it seems that the G900 has some pretty insane reviews with it. My question is, do you guys think G900 is worth the upgrade from G602 or should I just stick with buying another G602 for my gaming/all around mouse? Thanks!

Do you still have the original receipt from when you bought the G602? If it's from less than 3 years ago, you should be able to get Logitech to replace it under warranty.

I would check the warranty first and see if you can get a replacement for it.

As for G602 vs. G900, I've had the G602 before and it felt bit heavy (it being a wireless mouse), later on moved to the G502 (wired mouse). My bro had the G502 and now switched to the G900 and he says the G900 is much lighter. Performance wise the G502 and G900 share the same performance sensor which is one of the best atm. You can also choose whatever DPI you want as opposed to the G602 which has limited preset DPI. The G900 will easily have more battery life (3 days?) which is rechargeable/built in and can also be used as wired. Has higher polling rate (500Hz vs 1000Hz) which isn't really a biggie but its what most gaming mice share these days. The only issue you'll probably see if you're not use to it is the G900 is an ambidextrous mouse meaning both left and right handed can use it so it doesn't have that ergonomic right or left handed design but has one shape. It is way lighter than the G602 which I remember having to use 1 battery at a time to make it lighter.

Yes, I still have the receipt and returned it to the store where I bought it and they decided to give me a full refund for it. Since I will be getting money instead of a replacement, I decided to look into other options.

Thanks for this. Didn't know you could use the g602 with just one battery.

I own and currently use both the Logitech G602 and G900 wireless mice. My thoughts on when it is appropriate to buy each mouse:

    Logitech G602
This mouse has "good enough" performance. Optical sensor, tracks up to 2500dpi in 250dpi increments, doesn't have acceleration or jitter correction. It has fantastic battery life (1-3 months), and is very inexpensive for a wireless gaming mouse at about $40. This is the mouse to buy if you need a mouse for travel or a laptop bag, due to the battery life and low replacement cost if the mouse gets lost or damaged.

    Logitech G900
This mouse is the best-of-the-best in sensor performance. Optical sensor tracks 200-12,000 DPI in 25dpi inctements; no acceleration or jitter correction . Poor battery life (about 24 hours between recharges), and is among the most expensive mice out there at ~$150. This mouse is really only suitable for primarily desktop-based use (not travel), due to its short battery life, high cost of replacement, and need for a "perfect" mousing surface (e.g. mousepad) to get the most use out of the mouse.

Don't worry too much about maximum DPI on these mice. People only use a max DPI of around 2000. Anything above that is pointless, and higher DPI numbers are used only as a bigger-must-automatically-mean-better marketing race for uninformed buyers (much like how digital camera DPI continued to climb past useable resolutions, as a marketing arms race).

Do pay attention to battery life. The Logitech G900 is a great mouse; but the need to constantly recharge it means extra hassle, and the need to always have a microUSB recharging cable around. Additionally, the Logitech G900 is reconfigurable, with multiple options for side buttons & panel configurations. But those panels / buttons attach via magnets, and can be easily knocked loose when on-the-go in a laptop bag or carrying case. Because of these factors, I do not consider the Logitech G900 to be a good option as a travel mouse.

One more thing: If you buy (another) Logitech G602, put 2x AA Lithium batteries into it. (e.g. Energizer Lithium non-rechargeable AA batteries). They are lighter than alkaline batteries, and last much longer. You increase the mouse battery life from 1 --> 3 months, and change the weight profile of the mouse from a heavier rear-balanced weight profile to a lighter center-balanced weight profile.

If you want more of a simpler mouse with wire/wireless capabilities just like the G900 and more of an ergonomic body, you can check out the G403 Wireless: http://a.co/6o3nont

Take into consideration weight if that applies to you:

    Hello.
I am in the same boat as you and I'm not sure what to do. I absolutely love the feel of my g602 and the way it fitted comfortably into my hand and I love wireless... Now I know the g900 is much much better on paper with its fancy stuff but if price isn't an issue (I buy my products used after finding a good deal because I'm cheap) what would you go with. If you got it or to anyone who has owned both (or owned a 502 because of the similar shape) what are your thoughts on its shape... The shape of my g602 feels so nice and is comfortable and as a person who enjoys playing first person shooters I would normally be recommended to pick up the g900 but I haven't made the purchase because I'm worried it won't feel nearly as nice...
Either way I would love to hear your thoughts... Thank you

The mice have different shapes, but both of them fit your hand well. Neither one of them are uncomfortable. And the only way you'd be able to tell the difference in terms of comfort is if you had both side-by-side. But the difference is so minor that you'd never notice the difference while using either one.

I don't actually think the shape should be the deciding factor between these two mice. The Logitech G602 has pretty decent performance, and fantastic battery life. The Logitech G900 has fantastic performance, but you'll need to keep an eye on battery levels and charge it about once per week.

See my post above for thoughts on performance between the two mice.

Thanks for your fast reply Kent. I think I'll be going with the g900 when i find a half decent deal. I can happily plug the mouse in when I go to bed so charge should be no issue. Thank you for influencing my decision and I guess when I get it (I wait for good deals on eBay) I shall be able to see how nice it is. Unfortunately in Britain i can't really find anywhere to test said mouse but I think I'll trust you and Logitech on this one. Thanks again

I love the g602. I'm on my second for what it's worth. But the g900 is the Royals Royce of wireless mouses from what I've heard. I'd like to get one one day... just that price.

Not too long ago, Best Buy in the US had the G900 on sale for half price - $75.

Yeah nice. That's where it's at. Shame I can't nab one from there though.

What country do you live in? I live in the UK and cex seems like a place to get it at a good price at £72 used. If you browse eBay and wait you can probably get it cheaper... I get most of my products used. I just picked up a pair of g933's for £58 used on eBay... I didn't wait ages on a deal so I could have probably got a better price but they arrived today and are spectacular. Either way wait long enough for the g903 on sale and you should be able to get it cheaper. Thanks for replying and reading this

You can also look into the G403 wireless if you're unsure how you'll take to an ambidextrous shape like the G900. It's less expensive and uses the same sensor and wireless tech. IMO shape and weight are 1A and 1B order of importance for mice, followed by sensor and buttons. Whichever way you go, G403 or G900, they're both a huge step up from G602.

    Hi Zambalot,

I ended up getting a g900. It will feel funny at first as it is really lighter than G602 which means really good for travelling as well but after sometime you'll get used to it and will be amazed by it's amazing response times. If you are left handed, you can setup the mouse buttons to be on the right side for better usability. I usually use the mouse at a good 8-14 hours on weekends when I play games and find the need to recharge it on that same day or the day after. Personally, it doesn't bother me that much as it only takes around 1-2 hours to fully recharge it and you can still use it while charging as well but take this into consideration as well when you finally decide what mouse to buy as this might be an issue for you. Overall, I'm very happy with the G900. Hope this helps.
