This seems pretty odd to me. I received the mouse on Wednesday this week and it has been great so far. I have played many games ranging from Counter Strike: Source to World of Conflict to Jedi Academy...even Ultima Online! No problems what so ever.

So me and my friend decide we want to play some Battle.net last night. I loaded it up all fine, finally got into a game and BOOM, mouse starts to stutter.

This is really wierd, do you guys think this might be happening cause its an old game? Maybe something I need to set in Set Point?

do you have pointer-trails on? doesn't that mess some games up that have an on-screen mouse?

It used to happen to me when playing to age of mythology... not sure about blizzard rts games, though - i haven't used pointer-trails since.

My guess is interference from the wi-fi. I cant think of any reason for the mouse to not work only in that one game. I know tho when at work if I d/l torrents and things with very high bandwidth use it makes the mouse act funny.

Its just a longshot guess, because it works fine with everything else like online games, and once in a blue moon it freaks out for no reason and I turn it off and back on to fix it.

yeah I know...its very wierd. I'm gonna have to play around with it. I do believe as well that it probably is the wifi, but I have dled files at 300kb before with no effect to the mouse.

    Very strange indeed.

Just play 1 player and not online, if the mouse messes up you know its not the wifi.

So yeah it could be the wifi lol... the G7 uses same frequency as wifi for what ever reason. Next logical test would be play online with a wired connection and then we would pretty much have it nailed.

blarg, what is the frequency for a standard router, 5.4 ghz? im not exactly sure on the number. hopefully its high, because the higher the frequency, the littler area it will span, so if you move your router farther away from your comp then you can hopefully eliminate the interference.

    hopefully.

Yeah changing locations is the best solution other than maybe a different router, being further/closer will change the interferences, also make sure the mouse is not between the router and the usb sensor.

The G7 is pretty dumb by itself so it is mostly dependent on the router. I have a Dlink DIR-655 and my G7 never had problems. I suspect the DIR-655 is smart enough to avoid the G7 signals.

While I had my G7, there was from time to time, interference with my Wifi-router (Zyxel Zyair B2000, an old bugger), but Ive also experienced it while sitting at Uni using Wifi, but ive only seen it lag while using wireless on my on lappy (An Fujitsu Siemens Xi1546, which have been replaced) or if there were lots of wireless activity while using it.
