had my G700 for just under a year now. i bought it off amazon so im not sure how 1 year warranty works.
problem is the centre wheel. it is now stuck on free spin as the
button that changes it to click spin doesnt want to work anymore. now since yesterday the wheel is fine scrolling downwards but it just wont scroll back up the page. this is a total pain while gaming as wheel up is change guns so needed.
as its a sealed unit theres not much i can do to try and repair it myself so the next best thing is buy a new mouse.

now, do i go for a G700 again or are there any other recommendations out there.
ive looked at the roccat before but would like a wireless mouse with the option of charging through a wired setup so like the g700

there are teardown pics of the g700 floating around the net which you could use to repair it, but if you're under warranty better to have them replaced instead.

Sorry to hear about your G700. The only other wireless mice worth looking at are the Mamba and R.A.T. 9. Personally loving the R.A.T. 9 :D

Try asking Logitech if they can get it replaced/repaired first? Should be do-able as long as you have your invoice from Amazon. If not, self-service it. Screws should be under the feet.

Seconding the RAT 9. The 7 is also a good choice, I have one. :)

Logitech provides three years warranty coverage. Take advantage of that.

Absolutely stay away from the Cyborg RAT7 and RAT9 mice.

The strong pounts of those mice are that they are the most comfortable mice you will ever use, because of the adjustable shape. The sniper button is also very well implemented.

However, there are far too many drawbacks for the price. The imaging sensor is terrible (aPhilips TwinEye) and is notorious for being one of the worst sensors in high end gaming mice because of its Z-axis problem. It is very intolerant of imperfect mousing surfaces (such as a bare desk surface), and requires a mousepad. The Teflon feet are very small and hard, which adds a lot of drag to the mouse motion. And the configuration software is the worst configuration suite I have ever used.

The Cyborg RAT mice are absolutely not worth the price they charge.

I have to say, I see none of the problems you list there with my mouse. There is noxt to no friction on the mouse, especially if you remove the weights, the sensor seems very responsive and has no problems, I can use on my imperfect leather couch surface with absolutely no problems.

I do agree though, the config software is nothing to write home about, but not terrible. It is INCREDIBLY comfortable.

It is overpriced sometimes, but if you find it on sale, its well worth it.
