just a quickie to ask you experts how have you set up your button for gaming compared to the default settings.
just for example what have you setup the 4 buttons on the left for in black ops and crysis 2 demo.
for some reason the top 2 do nothing even when ive changed them in game.
    thanks

I don't own one but try this .. Use the Logitech software and select keystroke assignment for the one you can't change in-game , assign em to any random key and try changing them in game and see if it works.

That should work; I bound my G700 buttons to infrequently used keys (like ; , ') for games. There is no reason why they should not work, since they simulate a keystroke and every single modern game on the market has support for every keyboard key.

Many games don't support that many mouse buttons. Heck, some games don't even work with all 5 on my Mamba. I'm not too familiar with Logitech's mouse software, but as the others have suggested, just bind those buttons to single keystrokes, and use keys that you don't normally use in-game, like

or [O], and it should work in-game. Some games can't use more than a couple mouse buttons, but I don't know any that can't use every key (with obvious exceptions like the Windows key or the menu key) :p

There is no reason that it shouldn't be working. Go into the setpoint utility and bind the button you want to "keystroke assignment" and then type a key. Then go into the game's settings and press either that key or the button that you bound that key to for the function you want. This WILL work.

Are you sure you are making the keystroke assignments for the right profile, and that this profile is in use while ingame? Do you have profiles set to change based on application, or manual control (with a button on the mouse)?

I forgot how lol, but I have my back and forward buttons set to flash and grenades in CSS. Or prone in Black ops. Stuff like that, that make it faster. For me at least.

CS:S and Black Ops both natively support forward/back mouse buttons (i.e. buttons #4 and #5)

If you do what I said and are using the profile in which you bind the mouse buttons to keys, it should work fine. I have done this with logitech mice for years and have never had any issues. It works fine on my G700 in every game I have.
