What battery are you guys using with your Logitech G700 or G700s mouse? Mine came with an Enitime 2000mah battery and even with power saving mode and the lowest polling rate, the battery only last a day.

I heard Sanyo XX are among the best out there.

Sanyos are the most well known among enthusiasts, not necessarily the best for everything (battery making is a balancing game). They are indeed nice in general, and for this application should serve you well.

Sanyo XX's are now called "eneloop pro", AKA black eneloop. It's the high-capacity low-cycle-life varient of eneloop.

I have the exact mouse with Eneloop Pro batteries. They wear out and begin to lose their ability to hold charge after a few months of use. My recommendation is Energizer Power Plus Rechargeable batteries (2300 mAh). Have been using these for more than a year and they still hold their charge fairly well.

Oh, and buy a wall charger. It comes in handy when you need to do a "quick swap" for a new battery.

I actually bought an Energizer charger and a set of 2300mah Energizer batteries a couple of years ago. They are probably the same as your link but have slightly different labels. I have 4 of these AA batteries and after a full charge they don't even last half a day on this mouse. Charge goes from full to around 25% in about an hour on two of them. Funny thing is I hardly even used these batteries for anything and they have been sitting in a shelf for most of the time. I guess they ran their course like most batteries do.

The ones I linked are newer if your labels are different. You'll notice the "4x longer" on the package. It's up to you, but I was in a similar position and went through Eneloop batteries in a few months. They must have been defective or something.

The G700S has pretty horrible battery life to begin with.

Yeah, the battery life is atrocious. It's purely a gaming mouse but I really wish they would have implemented a better power saving feature.

I'll take a look at those Energizers, thanks for the link.

There are two things you can do to increase battery life on a Logitech G700:

    1) Set USB Polling Rate to 500Hz. You won't notice any real-world difference between 500Hz / 1000Hz, except longer battery life.

    2) Get a Logitech G602 instead. It runs off of non-rechargeable AA batteries. But if you put 2x AA Lithium batteries in there (instead of alkaline), you end up with an awesome lighter, center-balanced mouse that runs for 3 months in high-performance gaming mode (with warning when batteries are at 10%).

Thanks Kent, I actually have the polling rate at 125 when not gaming and it helps but not significantly.

I should have looked at the G602 before investing in the G700s. Oh well.

My G700S came with an Eneloop battery. I suggest getting one of those as they are amoung the best recharchable batteries out there. I have a few of them and use them for a bit of everything. Wireless mice, Xbox One Controlers, Flashes, etc...

But the G700S never had awesome battery times. Courtesy of the 1000Hz refresh rate. Try lowering it to 500Hz and you'll see some improvements.

Just an update. I think my problem is solved and now the battery life is much more reasonable. My laptop has a couple of powershare USB ports which basically provide power to any device plugged in to them even with the laptop powered off. I moved the receiver to a standard USB port and now I am on my 4th day and the battery is still at 2 out of 3 bars. I have the polling rate at its lowest and I use the mouse an average of 6-8 hours a day so I'd say that battery life is now where it should be, and to be honest it's not bad at all. At this rate, I'll need to recharge it about once a week compared to once a day like before. I have also not been switching the mouse off when not in use. If I do that I imagine my battery life will be improved even more. I am now using the Sony batteries I mentioned earlier.

Unfortunately I have no BIOS option to turn off the powershare feature which I never use anyway.

Thanks to all for your help.

If you use the mouse for gaming, you really want the USB polling rate to be 500Hz or 1000Hz.

The Logitech G700 is really a mouse that needs to be charged every 18-36 hours of use. If you want a gaming mouse with better battery life, check out the Logitech g602.

^ This. Even with moderate gaming, you should easily get a month, if not more, of battery life. And don't let the shape deceive you, the G602 is arguably the most comfortable mouse I've ever owned.
