Hi I recently bought a GAP messenger bag...it had a really cool dedicated pocket on the outside towards facing your body for your laptop. It's got some nice padding and makes the getting the laptop very easy. As I walk, notice that my stride naturally makes the laptop "bounce" against me. I suppose in a way it's normal, but I was wondering if I am subjecting my new Latitude D620 to unncessary wear and tear (I'm thinking creating motherboard flex, etc....my last Thinkpad became sensitive to minute board flex and finally died)...

Any ideas if I should instead get anther bag? Or perhaps all bags have this inherent bounce (unlike backpacks) and I'm just being paranoid.

I have no idea how harmful it will be. Can you shorten the strap so it sits higher on your back? That might reduce the bounce.
