    Hi,
Not sure if this belongs here or software or hardware forum (moderator, please suggest).
Thinking about getting one for my laptop for future trips. Trying to find a good USB GPS module and software to go together with this.
    Getting fancy here :)

OH. BTW, the word "GPS" seems to be excluded from the search since it has "only" 3 charactors.... is there anyway to get around this? There's so many things to search with 3 letters in the forum.

This is what I have a recommend.

Search ebay for BU-353. It's a USB GPS device with the SiRF Star III chipset. It works in EVERY wardriving and map program that I have tested.

Now if you want GPS software Microsoft Streets and Trips is your best bet for going from point A to point B. But it doesn’t always have the searchable locations you want to find. Example, it won’t find a 5+yr old home depot or sams club in my area. But it has no problem finding them in hicks ville. So when searching for retail stores and what not, I like Garmin MapSource. But I find their interface to be a little primitive.

So if I had to get only one application, it would be Microsoft Streets and Trips.
