I plan on flying across the ocean in the next few weeks and having just gotten my MSi GS70 a little bit ago, I realized I really need a spare battery. Seeing as the laptop is NOT really designed for a second battery for easy swapping, that leaves me to use an external battery source. Now my problem is, trying to find a decent external battery that is ALSO compatible with MSi. That last being the hardest part of all to achieve. I don't need to be able to do heavy gaming during the flight, but being able to watch movies on low brightness, some gentle gaming (like minecraft level of processing power), is what I am after. I cannot count on my plane having power (cheap as anything flight), so wanted to ensure I have at least some power for more than 2 hours on my laptop base.
Anyone know of a good external laptop battery that is compatible with my system? So many list other brands but none seem to list MSi and are extensive to risk.
This is a post I made over in MSI but figured here might be good as well. Thanks for the help.

The best I can find is this one:

The company claims it can handle up to 200 watts, and your notebook has a 150 watt power supply, which means it's probably going to be looking for something that can handle that or it won't charge correctly. The other options I found maxed out at 90 watts, so there's no guarantee your system would accept them. Of course, you'd have to try out the adapters to find out which one works, and it's ridiculously expensive, but that's probably your best bet.Last edited: Jun 23, 2015
