Hey, I havn't been on this in a while but recently I spent a bit of money on things for my laptop and was wondering what else you can buy. So this question is open to everyone
What piece of gadgetry have you found to be; fun, helpful or just cool.
For me it has to be the bluetooth dongle that cost me £1 on Amazon which allows me to add MP3s to my phone and connect to any other BT devices within 60ft, either that or the £2 HDMI cable that allows me to hook up Half Life 2 to the HD TV

    Gadgetry, huh?
While I don't consider those two things you posted "gadgets" per se, nor the things I'm about to mention, I do like the added convenience:

    Expresscard audio card
    Expresscard FW-adaptor
Expresscard CF adaptor/reader (comes in both the slim and wide version)
    Micromate card reader (Sandisk)
    Thumb drive
    Lexar CF reader (FW800)
    Sandisk Extreme CF reader (Firewire)
    Sandisk Extreme CF+SDHC reader (USB)

A nice no-nonsense laptop sleeve protecting the computer only.

    A nice D/A+headphone amp
    Good headphones (as in "cans")

And if I had the money or prioritized differently with the money I do have:
An external SSD with a decent capacity.

I think it really depends on what you do.

At home I hve 2 USB Hubs connected to my laptop with external HDDs.

External HDDs are generally recommended, even if only for backup.
If you find you audio a bit lacking, try an external sondcard, I have an X-Fi Go, you may want (or not) a different one, it definitely beatsthe internal one though.
    Else that's it for me.

I have an external CD/DVD drive because the old one broke in my old Medion and I wanted a replacement fast...

I base laptop purchases off of compatibility with my Echo AudioFire2 because between that and my Ultrasone HFI-780's I don't connect many things to my laptop.
