I have the Logitech Dual action game controller. The controller used to work fine, but now the controller frequently disconnects and (sometimes if I jiggle it right) it reconnects. That is the only usb device gone bad on me. I, also, have a dying usb port. So any help would be appreciated.

Maybe you should try the controller using a different USB port. Try to see if the port is the problem or the device itself.

Buy a new one? Cables and switches, while very good, do not have infinite lifespans. As you use it, it wears. It sounds like yours might just be wearing out from use, or possibly storage conditions.
