So My ASus G1s order is being "processed" and i figure since i'm upgrading from a 7 year old desktop, now would be the perfect time to try out a gamepad? I mostly play World of Warcraft (since that was the only game my comp could actually handle at 20 fps on all low settings) but with the new Asus G1s coming i'm looking into some newer games, specifically S.T.A.L.K.E.R. , FEAR and a few others. I'm interested in a gamepad, i don't know how the keyboard will be with the g1s but i've had horrible notebook keyboard experienecs all my life. I've been looking keenly at the Nostromo N52 Speedpad and the Timberwolf King , those who try out gamepads usually claim they get hooked and can never go back, but i'm not quite so sure; it's just so alien to the keyboard i've been using to game with all my life. What do you guys think about a gamepad and Which ones might you reccomend for WoW and a few FPS's.

    Thanks for you're input

I have been using a keyboard for a while before using a gamepad, and I am back to keyboard. I personally disliked my N52 because the software was finicky, especially with STEAM games, and the button placement was akward at first. I solved the first two, but the main problem for me was that I could not assign enough commands to all of the buttons. As a mainstream gamer I had no huge macros all set up, and the basic set of keys sufficed for what I needed.

i currently use the Nostromo n52 and will not game without it!!!
I play all the LordofTheRings RTS games and SupremeCommander, Need for speed series, CallofDuty, Quake, SplinterCell series and lots more.
The n52 to totally customizable and so much easier to use than a flat keyboard. No more searching for Fx keys or having do do any Ctrl+Alt functions.
The macro ability makes everything fast with just 1 push of a button.

What i suggest you do is to find a big box store that sells it and try it out.Worst case scenario is you dont like it and can return it within 30days

I have a 360 controller for light sports and racing games laptop gaming

Use these drivers if you do get a 360 pad. Official Microsoft ones are horribly lazy and basic its almost laughable... if it wasn't depressingly true!

I don't care for gamepads with FPSs. Sorry, but a mouse is far superior to a stick

I agree, the Xbox 360 controller is a great gamepad. Personally I would use the wired 360 controller.

They are very well built and are very comfortable.
