    Hi everyone,

I want to get a nice gaming headset to go with the new MALIBAL Satori I recently ordered. Can I get recommendations for excellent headsets that are less than $100, ones that are betweeen $100 and $200, and ones between $200 and $300? I'll be playing a variety of games such as The Witcher 2, Crysis 2, WoW, Rift, etc. Thanks for your help. Any detailed comments/opinions are appreciated!

Under 100$: Creative Arena Surround hs1100
    Over 100$: Razer Megalodon

I have both of them. The Creative Arena Surround sounds as good as my Megalodon, but the Megalodon has a better volume control unit.

This is how I rate these headsets: (1-10)

    Creative Arena Surround hs1100:
    Sound: 10
    Comfort: 9
    Quality: 8
    Value: 10

    Razer Megalodon
    Sound: 10
    Comfort: 9
    Quality: 10
    Value: 7

    +1 to what he said.

I bought mine probably over a year ago, and I got to say, it was the best $50 (not after taxes) that I spent (I got mine at Best Buy).

The ear pieces are large enough to fit over your ears, yet comfortable enough to feel like you don't have them on (the ear pads are really comfortable).

The microphone quality is great, and it is extendable, so when you have it all the way in, it folds up inside the side of the headset. No joke, it's really nice that it's not in the way.

The cord is very long, and very durable. There is also a volume knob a little ways down the cord from the headset, which allows you to adjust the volume to the headset (it does not change the volume on the computer itself). There is also a microphone mute/un-mute slider.

Overall, I give it a 9/10. Nothing has gone wrong with it, nothing has broken or cracked, and believe me, I use it every day. I will be buying another one when this one is finished.

Hi again. Does anyone have an opinion or comment about getting headphones and a clip-on microphone instead of a genuine, microphone-attached headset?

At the moment, the frontrunner for me is the Sennheiser PC360 because it has the most positive reviews proportional to total reviews. The Plantronics GameCom 377 is also still in the running. Razer products are out because there are too many negative reviews in my opinion.

I'm surprised that no one has suggested the Astro A40 and the Steelseries Siberia v2. Those are others that I'm considering.

    Thanks for the feedback!

My opinion: if you want a microphone, get a headset. Clip-on mics invariably sound like crap and transmit more background noise and static than voice. You might get a slightly better-sounding headphone, but at the expense of the mic. With a headset, you get good headphones and a good mic.

Has anyone heard of Ozone Gaming? They have the Ozone Attack headset. I wonder if that is any good. Not many reviews out about it.

Sennheiser 350 are amazing. They really comfortably, have great sound quality and also have a great mic as well. I have owned them for 2 years now and i don't have any problems with them. As for Sennheiser 360, they should work out pretty well too

I recommend the Logitech G35. It is by far the best headset I have ever seen. It is a USB headset, so it doesn't rely on the sound card that is built into your laptop.

I personally prefer using a good set of Headphones not necessarily gaming headphones but higher end IEMs with a good clip on mic. I get so much better sound quality that I can carry around with me for music. I use a pair of Westone 4's and Zalman ZM CLip on mics and am loving it. SQ is better than any "gaming headset" and I've tried a few from Razer, TurtleBeach and Logitech.

I hate the Zalman clip-on mic...they just sound so awful. I've literally had to mute certain people in Mumble before because they use those.

+1 to the Razer Megalodon. Love the sound quality and comfort. The Virtual Surround Sound is pretty well done also.
