Hey guys went through 3 pc gaming logitech headsets :S they eventually stop working after about 3 months with good care. So I am willing to acutally purchase a headset more then $10 lol. I am willing to play about $60 - $100 depending on the product including shipping (Canada Vancouver). So can you please provide some links to a GOOD PRO pair of headphones.

Want possibly 7.1 or 5.1 with good directional sound.
Links: to product and price are highly appreciated.

    Thanks!.
So far I have looked at couple razer headphones really happy with the razer mouse.

Hey, you live in Vancouver, cool. Heading up there in a few months to go to UBC!

I've always been a fan of sennheiser headsets for gaming. I used to have a PC-161.

    http://www.sennheiserusa.com/private_headsets_pc_pro-gaming_skype-voip

i've also heard a lot of good things about the steelseries 5hv2.

    http://www.steelseries.com/int/products/audio/5hv2/information

the steelseries siberia icemats are a popular choice

    http://www.steelseries.com/int/products/audio/siberia-full/information

I would also recommend looking into regular headphones and a cheap desktop mic. I use Senheiser HD-555s and a logitech desktop mic, and I can hear everything in games. Also, if you want to get the most out of a headset, make sure you have a good sound card :D.

The Logitech G35 has 7.1 sound. I can understand you might be paranoid about Logitech after those cheap headsets you used, but the G35 is a whole different ballpark.

Instead of spending on a gaming headset, I suggest you to get a pair of nice, high quality stereo headphones, and couple them with a good sound card and microphone.

You can enable the card's virtual surround feature, and there you go, high quality sound and gaming audio that works in any game or song that you want, plus, the sound quality will be much higher than onboard sound.

The so-called gaming headset hype is just marketing, usually, they do not output sound as good as a high quality pair of stereo headphones, and break easily (Razer Barracuda...).

I use a pair of Panasonic DJ 100's, they output good sound, and I can enhance them a lot using my SoundBlaster X-Fi Notebook Audio Card.

I recommend Sennheiser, Bose, Sony and Panasonic especially, they make high quality audio equipment that does not break easily and outputs good sound.

I am going to replace my current headphones with a pair of Sennheiser HD 600's, I used to be hyped around gaming headsets, but after researching for a while and reading reviews, I noticed a pattern, that gaming headsets tend to output average quality audio and usually, their integrated-surround features are sub-par.

Also, I suggest you to read reviews about headphones that you think that are good, the perfect pair of headphones are the ones that appeal to your needs, go to stores and try them in persona if you can, kinda like shopping for shoes, you have to try them on before buying them, and read reviews as well, there is only so much that we can do to help you to choose an appropiate pair of headphones.

But razer like sony make really good sleek looking products with avg performance. But I'm shallow I want a nice lookin pair of headphones. So from the ones thats you guys have linked which one is is under $100 and good on my laptop ?.

ah, watch out with that... i had it last week for reviewing, it's a bit of a mixed bag. also, it's ridiculously expensive.

    i'd recommend the Steelseries 5H.

Another vote for headphones + microphone.

Chances are the headphones will be higher quality, and since the mic + headphone combo is separate less stuff can break.

If you want an all in one, Plantronics makes great stuff, here is a good deal Cin posted - http://www.buy.com/prod/plantronics...dset-new-in-poly-bag/q/loc/111/202592133.html

If you try out the separate route, you can get a cheap pair of headphones like the Sen 201's - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/ref=pe_33190_12177040_pe_t6/?ASIN=B0007XJSQC&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

    Then pair it with a Zalman Mic-1 - http://www.xoxide.com/zmmic1.html

I personally use the Mic-1 and a pair of Audio Technica A700's

agreed, a good pair of headphones is miles ahead of any gaming headset.
OT: you need an amp for the hd600.

i dont get how any headphone can be called "5.1" or "7.1". how does that work? 4 drivers in one ear and only 3 in the other? subwoofer strapped to the headband? stupid concept.
ahem, anyway: have a look at this

If you do not want to go the headphones + external mic route, then consider a headset from Turtle Beach: http://www.turtlebeach.com/
I demoed several headsets of theirs at E3 and they provided very good sound quality for the money. This is one I tried:
    http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/efx52/home.aspx
    5.1 surround.

I personally use a Razer Carcharias:
    http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-audio/razer-carcharias/
It has reasoanble sound quality, on par with Turtle Beach, but it is more expensive. I would go with the Turtle Beach if I had to buy again.

oh right turtlebeach a friend of mine recommending me it but I have personally never heard of it before but wow its 5.1, do you think that has a huge advantage over the razer one because seriously just the looks of that razer is basically the only reason i'm wanting to buy it. I'm so shallow :( damn razer products. making my purchase in 1 hour. Any last hour notes guys>?
