Just keep in mind that both the Diamondback 3G and Krait are longer than the Deathadder by 1mm. meaning that if the Deathadder was too big, Diamondback and Krait won't be much better.

What mouse were you using before the Deathadder?

If you prefer the fingertip-style grip, you should look into the Razer Salmosa, and perhaps the Orochi if you want to take it on the go. The Salmosa was designed from the ground up with the fingertip grip in mind, and the Orochi is compact enough that it works perfectly with that grip.

    thanx for the replies.........
@amazinggraceplayer.....the length was not the problem for me......it was too high which forced my hand into a hybrid between a claw and palm grip which felt way to weird.........
@mastershroom...the salmosa looks like a real good option but lacks the bling of the other two....wish it had those siderails.....
@ocelot....i wad using a real cheap iball mose which was somewhat big.....not as big as the deathadder though.......and it was easy to fingertip as it was not as wide..............

would the side buttons on the diamondback be a problem for a fingertip user.....i.e chance of clicking them by mistake......which out of the two would be better......?

Between the Diamondback and Krait, I would probably go with the Krait. If you don't want the side buttons, the Krait doesn't have any, so they won't get in your way. :p

Speaking from personal experience, extra buttons do not get in the way, but you have to go out of your way to use them. Not until you're used to pressing a side button instead of Alt+Tab (or whatever you assign) do you actually get the convenience out of it.

Make sure it's the Diamondback 3G; Razer's older sensors weren't as good.

I had the exact same problem. The Deathadder was pinching my hand between my thumb and finger when I would move it quickly. I switched to the Diamondback 3G and it is fantastic. Its super fast, a little long, but I like it alot.

I would probably go with blue, just out of personal preference because just about everything that lights up on my computer is blue. Status LED's, laptop power adapter LED, N52TE keypad...a green mouse would just clash. :p

It's entirely up to you, though.

The Diamondback 3G was only ever available in red, blue or green lighting. :p

Im a fingertip (claw grip) person myself. But I have that Razer Mamba on the way, its due on on Saturday.

It looks huge and kinda oddly shaped but meh I will reserve my opinion for now until after using it for a while.

Im still a big MX518 fan, its cheap, super good performance, and feels good in my hand no matter what type of grip I use. Thats why I was tempted to try out the Razer Imperator if I was going to go with that brand since it is supposedly very similar.

I do not like wires for notebook use though so I use the Logitech G7 a very similar layout and design to the MX518 but wireless. Like how it comes with dual batteries so there is never any issue with battery life. If i see the low battery warning come up I just put the other battery in, and start to charge the old one.

I think the Mamba is a bad choice if you're a fingertip type user. That is unless you got SUPER HUGE hands. I tried the Mamaba on the G73 and imo it's overkill. It's just too fast, and since I've gotten used to the Orochi, I think the Orochi is better for the G73. The Mamba is much better suited for desktop use.

Probably using the full 5,600 DPI without turning down cursor speed.

You don't need huge hands to use the DeathAdder/Mamba. They're suited to the palm grip primarily, but I can claw my DeathAdder quite comfortably.

I use my G7 for my laptop the Mamba is going to go to the desktop if I like it.

The G7 just has the dongle the mamba would require me to hook up that cable and dock, not nearly as portable plus the G7 has the dual batteries. I use one and when it dies I change it out and charge the 2nd one. I do not have to worry about constantly charging the mouse, only when a battery gets low.

The Mamba I would have to leave sitting when not in use just to charge. Not appropriate for my laptop, but fine or the desktop it can charge overnight each night.

If I do not like the mamba thats ok I'll sell it here on the forums to somebody for a good price, I got it as part of a package deal with a logitech g27 racing wheel that I wanted.

that was the mistake i made with the deathadder......the shape of the deathadder and mamba are somewhat the same and the mamba will most probably be really uncomfortable for you since you are a fingertip user.....it was for me even though ive got large hands......they were designed for palmers.....if you like the shape then its an awesome mouse......i sold my deathadder to my roomate as its perfect for him....hes a palmer......i also felt the mx518 real good for fingertip but kinda weird looking......sweet mouse though.....the imperator looks good for you if uve got the budget......are you a high dpi user?

btw will be going for the blue then......thanks everyone for the replies.......

No I am not a high DPI user I think I use 1600 on the MX518 its sensitive and accurate enough that I cant make any movement with the mouse no matter how small and not see it move on screen and seems to be just about right with most games default mouse sensitivity.

I do have 3x screens @ 5760x1200 resolution though so I like the on the fly DPI change on the MX518 so when I am doing a lot of work across the monitors I can change the "speed" on the fly. Kinda comes in handy in games sometimes like when using a sniper rifle but I usually do not bother.

Razer is getting more popular by the day but I still think that most of it is flair and popularity and that logitech still has them tied with performance/ergonomics and beat in value.

Again have to reserve my full opinion till after getting the new mouse though.

i second the Mx518, i been claw grip for so long... used to be a palm grip back in the the Explorer days.... the MX518 is a great mouse, and still is valued among the best, i just bought a deathadder 3500dpi and giving it a honest shot, but i also feel wierd with my style of holding it, but im gona give it some time, as its different i gotta ajust to it, but already have new 518 waiting for me to open :D .

Logitech definitely gives Razer a run for their money in most cases, but to be fair, Razer did innovate things like the Mamba and Orochi, which Logitech still don't quite have an answer for.

For what it's worth, I find my DeathAdder (same shape as your Mamba) to be far more comfortable and natural than my old MX518, or any of the three grips for the G9 I had.

is it just me or does the deathadder track better on my qck pad over the goliathus speed edition.......have both btw....headshots seem soo much easier with the qck.......i game at 900 dpi ......i cant handle the speed of the goliathus.......yet?.....the mouse also feels more comfy on it......it just may be me though......

logitech has real solid stuff......good quality......what ive heard about razers quality worries me but ive yet to experience a broken mouse...... :)...
