I have ordered the NP9170 and I shall be receiving it in July through a friend of mine who will be coming to India.

I have decided to get a new mouse and a mouse pad as the one I currently use it a pretty normal one and has already displayed a lot of problems with the mouse click.

I currently use a Logitech M90 and as for my mouse pad I use a cheap sheet of paper. :D

I have been looking around in Flipkart looking for a gaming mouse. My budget for the mouse is not too big. Some thing around Rs.2000.

These are the 2 I have looked up.

SteelSeries KINZU Optical Mouse Pro Gaming | Mouse | Flipkart.com

    Logitech G300 Gaming Mouse | Mouse | Flipkart.com

And as for the mouse pad I looked upon this.

Razer Goliathus - Fragged Alpha Mouse Pad Control | Mousepad | Flipkart.com

The thing about the mouse that bothers me is if they will be small. I for one DO NOT like small mice. I prefer at least a normal sized one as I palm grip my mouse.

I will be playing all single player games especially(Crysis, BF3, Witcher II, Assassins creed,Darksiders II, Diablo III) and Dota is the only multiplayer that I play. I might start playing CS too as I had quit after college due to the lack of a proper system and peripherals(table, mouse, mouse pad) to play.

Any kind of ideas would be appreciated. I dont mind if the mice and the mouse pads are in the US as I can ask my friend to purchase them for me and bring it along when he comes in mid July.

    Thank You.

I personally have the logitech g400 and I see it is Rs.1699 on flipkart. I just recently purchased it and I have read a lot of really good things about it considering it is a inexpensive gaming mouse. Not to sure about the g300 in comparison to the g400, but I do not see it recommended nearly as often. Maybe because it is a ambidextrous mouse.

Yes I just saw the g400 and yes the reviews are great. This certainly is my first gaming mouse and hence i have no specific preference.

I was looking at the Razor Death Adder as it seems pretty good and comfortable.

But yes it is a bit expensive and does go above my mentioned budget. The g400 does seem pretty good for its price though. How good is the Adder compared to the g400?

I was going to mention the death adder because it is about the same price as the g400 here in the US but I noticed it was considerably over your budget on flipkart. When I was looking at mice it was between the g400 and the death adder and I ultimately went with the g400 because it seemed to be more reliable.

I did check out the price of the Death Adder and it came up to around 45$. That is around Rs.2500. The Adder is priced at Rs.2600 in Flipkart. Pretty much the same.

But the g400 is quite cheap here. As you already mentioned it comes for Rs.1700 which is around a 1k difference.

I can of course ask my friend to get the mouse from the US if I find cheaper prices there. So that is not a problem really for me.

How different are the 2 mice? Size? Holding comfort? Texture? Design?

The G300 is not recommended often because it is a piece of crap and targeted at the crowd who think that the showier a mouse is, the better. If you get a chance to play with one, it feels really cheap. I think a G100 would be a better choice over the G300. But I highly recommend the G400. It can't be bad if Logitech has been making a version of this optical mouse for the past 10 years.

I have pretty much decided to go with the Razer Goliathus - Fragged Alpha Mouse Pad Control.

Saw a few video reviews of it and I was satisfied. But I shall look into the Steel series too.

So between the Death Adder and the g400 which one would you suggest?

I'm very biased so I'm afraid I can't tell you. But I don't think you will be disappointed with either one.

For a mouse, you can't go wrong with either the DeathAdder or G400. I personally use the DeathAdder, but the G400 is just as good. I think the DA may be a tiny bit larger.

As for a mousepad, the Goliathus is nice. If you get it, I recommend the Speed edition over the Control version. The SteelSeries QcK pads are good too; basically the same thing.

I was under the impression the control edition was better as I could any time change my DPI and get better movement if I actually needed. Whereas with the speed edition, I would not be able to go down on the movement a lot if I actually intended. This is what I assumed. May be you people can clear this up.

I use a g500 and a steelseries qck. I recommend Logitech and both. G400 looks like a great option

It has nothing to do with DPI...basically, the Speed edition Goliathus has a nice smooth surface, while the Control edition has a more rough surface texture. It's easier to move your mouse fast on the Speed version because there's less friction. The Control version supposedly helps you move more accurately, but you can move as accurately as you want with the Speed surface anyway, without the speed restriction.

Id suggest you try them both out, i much prefer the speed edition for goliathus, i had the control and i found the rough weaving of the surface constantly getting caught on my mouse feets. The surfaces are purely personal preference and its hard to recommend even if you mention the type of game you play. But if you cant try them both out then just choose one, its not that much of a risk since they're both pretty ok and relatively cheap. I still prefer hard mousepads though.

Under my impression the Mamba and DeathAdder seem like perfectly healthy mice, I've got a SteelSeries Sensei myself, but it's mostly due to it's coating and my sweating haha

but I would probably say the G400/G500, DeathAdder/Mamba (depending on if you wish a wireless pref or not).. maybe the Sensei if you want "metal" coating, basically a must have for people that sweat like hell :p but yeah Razer vs Logitech ;)

The sensei and Mamba are pretty much out of my budget. So its going to be wither the g400 or the Death Adder the way I see it. Unless some one can suggest me another one around the same price as these two.
