I'm looking for two new mouse pads. I'm currently using a left 4 dead battlemat from GameRigs as my primary mouse pad and a SteelSeries FragMat. Both are very similar. I'm looking to get a new mouse pad for my desktop and another more durable one for taking with my laptop.

I'm considering the Razer Sphex for my desktop or the Razer Destructor. But would consider others, which is why I'm here.

The only thing I've seen for my laptop yet in the Razer Kabuto, but it won't fit well in the Alienware M11x apparently so I'm considering a Razer Goliathus or SteelSeries QcK but I've never been a huge fan of cloth mats.

I have another Titan Quest (don't know manufacture) mouse pad that fits perfectly in the M11x sleeve pocket but it slides too much. I'd like to find a small one to fit there but I don't think anyone makes a good one that will fit.

    Any suggestions?

For mobile use, I highly recommend the Razer Vespula. It's a plastic mat with Speed and Control sides, and fits easily in a backpack. It's handy because it provides a sturdy flat surface even if you're someplace where you wouldn't normally have one, like a couch or bed, or carpeted floor, as opposed to the Kabuto which will require you to have a flat and sturdy surface. It's very slightly flexible, and quite lightweight. It makes an excellent combo with my Orochi on the go. Unfortunately, it won't fit inside the M11x, as it's a hard mat. I just slip it in my backpack right next to my 1201N.

As for the Sphex vs. Destructor, I would go with the Destructor. I've tried the Sphex, and it's literally as thin as a sheet of paper with some adhesive on one side and slight texture on the other side. I would only recommend the Sphex if you're really low on desk space.

For your desktop and your laptop mouse pads, I would take a close look at what Func has to offer. If you like metal-base mouse pads for desktop applications, take a look at the Func Archetype. The base is machined from a single piece of aluminum billet, and the mousing surface has two different mousing surface textures. If you don't want a metal base, you can opt for a rubber one instead.

    Func Archtype

For your laptop, I would suggest the Func 1030 Original. It's very portable (10" x 8.5") and is a terrific mouse pad in my opinion. Like the Archtype, the 1030 also has two different mousing surface textures and uses a textured rubber base to keep the pad in place.

    Func 1030 Original

I've used the 1030 for years. In fact, it was the first "gaming grade" mouse pad I ever bought and I still use the same one, and that was seven or eight years ago. I've used a MX518 on it as well as a G9 and they both performed admirably on this pad. I highly reccomend it!

I found the best gaming mouse pad:
    an aluminium anodized bakeware
    http://static.letsbuyit.com/filer/i.../mermaid-cookware-bakewell-pan-14_260243.jpeg

As I was loooking for a new mouse pad I found out that the best gaming mouse pads are aluminium based but are quite expensive.
I decided to try one of my bakeware and.....surprise
it works very well in fact better than my old mouse pad

    good:
    huge surface,
    good feeling
    fast speed
    good control
    integrated wrist rest
    long lasting
    price

    bad:
    noisy
    design
hmmm...I would not use it outside
I have to choose between eating and gaming

I recommend the Func Archetype. It's the best mousepad I've ever used. I have the Bioshock 2 one. :)
