Hello everyone!
i was hoping someone could point me in the direction of a somewhat compact usb keyboard that feels like the keys on a alienware m11x. I am looking for a keyboard with a great response and doesn't feel too soft so i know i pressed the key correctly. I am open to any suggestions!
Thank you in advance,

Sounds like a good tactile mechanical keyboard would be right up your alley. MX Blue mechanical switches have a solid "click" and you can feel the actuation. MX Browns are quieter, but still tactile. I don't know of any compact models, though, hopefully someone else can help with that.

CM Storm quickfire rapid to name a compact one, i wouldn't go for MX blues for gaming though.

thanks for the response. i was looking at CM Storm quickfire... maybe that will be my final pick not sure. i think i am going to do a little bit of digging to see what else i can find.

I currently have the same situation. So far, I've been looking at the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid and the TT esports Meka. The Rapid has no numpad and is smaller than the Meka. The Meka on the other hand has a numpad but is still more compact than most keyboards. Haven't bought any yet.

Just a very important tip, do not get MX Blues if you intend to game alot, the noise is louder than most peoples opinions.

I dunno I think my blues are more quiet than I expected, then again while the switches are the source of the noise the type of mounting, body and keycaps used to host them make a world of difference as well. My blues are on a Das Keyboard and its plate mounted and built like a tank so it probably hides a lot of the noise.
I still wouldn't use blues for gaming unless its solo gaming only, I have no qualms with the switch type but its very noticeable in audio recordings for my youtube videos or over chat while talking to others.
Reds are by far my overall favorite type even though at first I thought I would hate linear keys. It gives you something different and warrants the cost of mech more if your into the idea of no tactile bump because membrane keyboards cant do it at all, while blues/browns/clears while maybe high quality and all still function similar to a membrane keyboard. -
Not really - with many rubber dome membranes by the time you've overcome the initial bump which usually comes as an earlier percentage of the strike, you've actually already made contact before your fingers can brake to a halt.
Which is why I prefer short-travel membranes like the Sidewinder over any Cherry - reds included. I also prefer the landing feel over any mechanical - and the oft-recommended pad mod is laughably a way to turn a mechanical into a really weird/bad dome.
But you know, like I did - I've owned every switch type now and keep (Filco) brown, blue, red and black as well as ALPS and Topre action around just so I'm honest in my opinions - I think it's one of those things you have to try and if it works for you, delusion / purchase justification / peer-group-influence or not, it works for you, eh? -

One of my better friends did import the KBC Poker X from China, and I must admit it's freaking sweet!! love it
although I haven't played with it yet.. I surely into it
but I do prefer the older keyboard myself, they feel.. natural if you will -
For me it was borderline tolerable when i played with blues and the sound came out of the speakers, but when i team speaked with my clan, they would remind me everyday how annoying my keyboard was.
