Hope you guys can help me with this.
I am looking for a new gaming mice that will last 3 years +. I am currently owning a razer copperhead for 1 year but i don't really like it, because:

    1. It is not confortable - the two edges on sides and doesn't fit my plams;
2: The clicks up front aint responive enough, seems there is a lag.
3: function keys on right side of the mosue useless - cannot reach
    4. scroll breaks a week ago

the reason why i still use t for 1 year is becos i forgot to return it and its pretty expensive ( = =" ), and now its scroll breaks, so i decide to have a new one. although it is a very sensetive and precise, but uncomfortable = nothing.

I have a medium palm. confortable and clicks responsive comes 1st, so the mice cannot be too big. It has to be long lasting. I am currently looking at logitech g5, but then it reaches the top of my budget. I really hope I can spend min amount since my budget is really tight. are ORZ mouse any good? they seem cheap but i am afriad they might be too big. Also is there a big difference between laser and infrared, as i am currently using laser

Also I need a mice pad, fit for gaming, must under $5.

I am also thinking of replacing my current plantronics 350 headset. it is a good headset for gaming especailly fps but using it for 3 years i decided to change to a more comfortable headset, with around the same budget i got my plantronics $30 - $40. yet this is not urgent

    thanks a lot guys!!!!!!!!

Go for the Razer DeathAdder or Logitech MX518. You might have to break your budget a little, but just get that and hold off on the new headset for a while. When you do get a headset, check out the Plantronics GameCom 377, it's way comfortable and the sound quality is great.

Well for mouse, you should really ask yourself if you like the Razer grip or the logitech grip(ie teardrop design). For instance, I have the MX518 for over 2.5 years, while my room mate has a DeathAdder. Long story short, while both are great mice I don't like the DeathAdder design and he doesn't like the MX design. So before buying, try to borrow a mouse from a friend or something like that, since just placing your hand on the mouse box in the store wouldn't help much.
BTW, I got a great deal on an open box MX518(2nd one)+ Razer goliathus for 40 bucks on ebay. I suggest you check out ebay too. And if you find any design comfortable, dont skimp on the input devices as they are the primary interface between you and the computer, you aren't going to be changing them very soon...

I have an MX510 that I've been using for 4-5 years now and all the buttons still work like new. If it ever quits on me, I'll be getting an MX518 to replace it. Obviously, I'm very pleased with its ergonomics to say that I'd get something with the exact same form factor if I had buy a new mouse.

I have been playing on a ocz eclipse mouse and it is very comfortable for my hand. Problem is all hands and grip styles are different. Its a great mouse and I got mine for $24. Features are hard to beat for the price.

The Deathadder fits in your hand like melted swiss cheese. And it's got the best optical sensor on the market.

The G5 is essentially a laser version of the MX518, and in my opinion, not as good.

For the mouse, have a look at the Logitech G5. I've had mine for over 3-years and it still works great. It's very accurate and smooth. You should be able to get it right at $50.

    hi all
i have finally got a logitech G9, cos i would rather get a laser mouse. It fit my palm prefectly(most most important after having bad experience with copperhead), just fit for a medium size Asian hand (no need to say about its function .....). Seems razer products will never fit me lol.

now i am thinking of the headphone ... i know plantronics are good for gaming (accurate positioning), but then for music use its rather weak. Any good suggestions? Sennheiser? any cheaper choices? (btw again comfort comes 1st)

Excellent choice! I happen to use (and love) the same mouse. You'll be much happier with the Logitech G9 than an overpriced, overhyped Razer product.

Trust me, Razer mice excel at not fitting the users hand comfortably. ;)

Umm, I wouldn't say razer is overpriced, cos they really make quality products, but yea i think they are overhyped. The thing with razer is .... it's cool, it has great funtion, but then i would say it is too "stylish" ....... which makes not everyone would accept it(not "touching" with cutomers IMO) and it's totally different with logitech.

I think I know what you mean. It's kind of like those kids who buy Honda Civic's and put fancy exhaust systems on them to make them sound fast. Or red LED's for tailights because they think that's all you're going to see in their "souped up" 150HP 4-cylinder rent-a-wreck.

In many ways, it kind of resembles Razer products. Razer's mentality is that if they put enough lights, doodads, and glowy things on their mice, then surely it will appeal to everyone, no doubt hoping to hide the deficiencies in other areas (such as quality control and materials used) of their products.

the 1st thing razer shd improve is ergonomics ..... at least with series like copperhead, no doubt with that .... and i think even with deathadder. but then, maybe that needs a turn-around of its whole company culture ....

ps: it shd be "overhyped" :p

To each their own I guess! To me, the G9 felt about as ergonomic as a wooden block or a deck of cards. :D

garetjax, don't get me started on the whole Razer debate again. My DeathAdder is the single most comfortable mouse I've ever used, including my old Logitech G9 and MX518.

goldenhk, Plantronics headsets are just fine for music. I use my GameCom 377 as a music headphone all the time.

Let's also point out that the Deathadder has more un-neccessary lights, LEDs, and lighting effects than either the G9 or the MX518 put together.

Again, this just proves my point about Razer products in general.

I also have the Deathadder. But I don't buy my things for pretty lights, I buy them for how efficient is it. Sure the lights make it look better. But the mouse is one of the best I have owned.

A product maker is not stupid, if you can combine Style with Function perfectly. Then why not do it? You are gaining more money doing it.

You are entirely correct, assuming of course, that Razer mice are functional. We already know they've got plenty of "style".

I see nothing wrong with my DeathAdder's functionality. Function does not exclude form and vice versa. A mouse can look good and perform well, and (at least some) Razer mice are testaments to that.

You never want to spend so much on sthing you don't fit (for me it's copperhead ...)

By the way should 377 be a lot better than 350? and what's the difference between 355 and 350

Agreed with goldenhk. Run to your local Best Buy; they often have mice on display that you can try out and get a feel for.
