I would like to hear your opinion on this one:

I'm looking for a gaming mouse for my M570RU with orange trim. Now Razer is a very very good brand but they only provide 3 colors for the lighting of their Copperhead mouse:

    - red
    - green
    - blue

What color would you choose to go with my notebook?

I know, the Deathadder Guildwars special edition is yellow/orange and the Krait is too, but I don't want Guildwars on my mouse and the Krait only has 3 buttons..

Red fits best... but I'd say try to just find a flat black one.. I don't think you'll find one with orange trim... though that'd be nice :) I have the same lappy as you, but a tad higher specced.

but hey.. if you do happen upon one, pls tell me too! I want one that matches! :D :D

I have a Razer Diamondback (red), Razer Pro (white) and a Deathadder. All are *GREAT* mice and would do you well! I love mine to death, or the death of my enemies online... heh heh.

    However, that said...

I would recommend the Deathadder, and here's why: on the Copperhead, Diamondback and Pro mice they use a transparent, rubbery plastic on the sides of the mouse where the thumbbuttons are. Overtime, this plastic will discolor and turn a weird yellow with a lot of use. The Deathadder does not use this same plastic and will age better than it's companions.

It's purely a cosmetic issue, and all mice will start to degrade in quality overtime. I still use my Diamondback primarily, so don't get me wrong. The mice own.

Note: The Diamondback and Pro are the exact same mouse, just with different casings. =P

Inkjammer, you are talking about a yellow discoloration of the transparent plastic. Is it really that bad? And did it take long for the plastic to discolor?

But then.. I still have to make up my mind on which one to buy. I like the red color of the copperhead and the 32k memory+laser, but discoloration looks really ugly and the deathadder doesn't have this problem. So which one would probably be the better choice: nice color+32k+laser or a mouse that will look good for a longer period of time?

Yep, that's what I'm talking about. It takes about a year or so, but... it looks kinda funky. There's no way to clean it (I even tried a lil' bit of bleach). I mean, it's a minor cosmetic issue; a minor downside to otherwise one of the best mice on the market. It annoyed me personally nonetheless.

Frankly, the Copperhead is a great mouse. The discoloration is odd, but all mice will wear out with use over time. The clear plastic just ages differently than other mice I've seen.

I'd like to point out that the Deathadder would be my 7th Razer mouse (and favorite so far!). So, don't get me wrong. This mice really do have kick.

I just read that the lighting for the scrollwheel and logo of the Deathadder can be seperately turned on/off, that's a nice extra. I think I'll go shopping tomorrow and compare how the Copperhead and the Deathadder "feel". I'll let you know which one I chose. Thanks for the advice!

The Deathadder has a flat black matte finish to it. It's like the mouse itslf absorbs light around it has it has no reflection at all. I have to imagine given your description that's the one you're talking about.

I'm using a BT mouse right now, but had a deathadder in my hand two days ago and almost bought it. Best feel to a mouse I've ever experienced. But it's hard to go back to cord though.

Do pay any attention to it. His only turned yellow because he's smoking all the time. Just look at his avatar! :D

I'm definitely more a reader than a poster, but I feel compelled to mention that of the three companies I would consider buying a mouse from:

    A) Logitech has a couple offerings with some orangey tinting...
stay away from the older model G5 however..
    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/&cl=us,en

    B) Microsoft has a nice mouse in the dark red category

    http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/gaming/productdetails.aspx?pid=100

    C) well razer seems to be summed up pretty well already in this thread.

and don't forget option D!- a screwdriver and some spray paint
