Hello, i would like to purchase a gaming mouse and i would really like to know your opinions/suggestions. I either use "claw" or "fingertip" grip, depending on the situation. My hands are normal sized, neither too big or too small (yeah, boring normal looking hands). I really don't like palm grip so i wouldn't like a big sized mouse. I did some research and i came up with some mice that might work for me.

    1) CM Storm Spawn CM Storm Products: Spawn
I've been reading some very possitive reviews about this mouse and it also has a great price so it's in the top of my list.

    2) Aerocool Strike-X Freedom strike x freedom
I can't find a decent review about this mouse and the fact that it's quite cheap worries me. It's wireless but it doesn't recharge through a usb cable. Any owner that can enlighten me?

    3) Roccat Pyra Wireless ROCCAT STUDIOS V3.0 - PRODUCTS » Gaming Mice » ROCCAT Pyra Wireless
I like roccat products and this mouse seems to be very good. Any info on the battery would be usefull. This one and the spawn are in the top of my list.

    4) Logitech G9X Logitech - G9x Laser Gaming Mouse
The most expensive of the bunch, does it really worth the extra money? Also for some reason i really don't like the way this mouse looks.

    5) R.A.T. 5 Cyborg R.A.T 5 Gaming Mouse
Lots of people say that the "rats" are overpriced and have flaws. Is it true? Also since it's adjustable it would be ok for my kind of grip, right?

    6) Corsair Vengeance M60 Vengeance® M60 Performance FPS Laser Gaming Mouse
Very good looking mouse with aluminum structure and the same sensor as the g9x. I'm a bit worried about the size though, will it be ok with a claw grip? I also like the M90, any info on this one?

So, that's my list. I'm open to suggestions and opinions :D (...and sorry for any grammar or spelling mistakes, English is not my native language  )

I really like the Spawn. Very comfy.

However, its software suite and the configurability leaves much to be desired - you've got *fixed* dpi steps of 800, 1800 and 3500dpi (which is IMO getting on the jumpy side). Macro's are kind of useless, and the button count isn't as festooned as on some leet gaming mice.

I don't in all honesty read too much into the laser vs optical debate, but the tracking on this optical sensor is decent - and better than some lasers I've come across.

However for me it's everyday mousing comfort that is most important and in this respect I really like the Spawn. Of course this is a personal thing and one guy's perfect mouse is another guy's torture - which is what the G9x is to me. Just takes about three days use then my index finger starts burning.

Spawn looks awesome never seen that before, also I really like the CM Storm Quickfire keyboard, guess it would be neat to have a matching set.

MX518 still serving me fine though. I use the Orochi with my laptop since wireless is really important to me for laptop use and it actually looks very similar to the Spawn just smaller.

Get mixed reviews, I've noticed. People who love it swear by it.

I've been using it as my main desktop mouse intensively on all of the desktops I hammer on for about 3 months after using it on and off for a while along with other mice, and the shape is the attraction. You don't so much drape over it but pinch it between your fingers and then twitch where you want to go (unless you have tiny hands, in which case it works more like a 'normal' mouse would to a large-handed guy). Works well for me both in gaming and in everyday mousing - and the burning index finger doesn't come (unless I'm using a mechanical keyboard instead of the X6).

Construction-wise, it's solid. I've had mice 2-3x the price which I've adopted in similar numbers which have started to develop issues in the same timeframe but I've yet to experience a failure or any significant wear (it should be noted of course that because I'm not on the same machine / keyboard / mouse every day, the wear on each machine is a fraction of what it would be if I was using it constantly - but I am genuinely *hard* on my gear, even though they get a rotation break).

Feature-wise - yeah, definitely can tell it's a cheap mouse. Software seems reliable - never had any specific crashes / issues due to it, but then, given the features it has it ain't doing that much.

Some people trying to hold it the way a palm mouse should be held might wish for weights - but if you're actually clawing this, there shouldn't strictly speaking be a need - I've not felt it to date.

Well i'll be using it for everyday use too not just for gaming so I need it to be comfortable. The Spawn so far seems to be a good choice. I had a look at the orochi but i don't want a bluetooth mouse as my main mouse because i might wanna use it on a different pc/laptop as well

I have a serious claw grip and the only mice I've been able to find comfortable over the past 10 years are Logitechs. I have tried using the Razer Mamba and the R.A.T 7 in the past 2 years but I had to return them because they felt very awkward to me and my claw grip. I've owned 6 Logitechs in the past 12 years and everyone of them never failed. In my opinion, they use superior sensors which allows them to track on almost every surface imaginable which is important to me since I don't always remember by mouse pad when I game at work.

If I were you, I would try and purchase them from a local brick and mortar. If you don't like the mouse, just return it.

The G9x is a claw mouse for sure, especially with the smaller Precision grip attachment. I've owned its predecessor, the G9, and it was a pretty solid mouse.

The Razer Lachesis is another one to consider. It's a bit long, but its overall shape is very conducive to claw gripping. Plenty of buttons, too. On the cheaper side, you might like the Abyssus, though it's very minimalist, so no thumb buttons.

+1 for the G9x being a claw type. I've tried its predecessor, the G9 but could never really like it due to being a palm-gripper.

The R.A.T. 5/7/9 is quite adjustable so definitely worth a look/try. Changeable parts make it easier for me to adjust for palm-gripping.

G9 & G9x = exactly same shape. You get the same shells with both, just a different colour. Both shells are for claw grip due to the low profile of the mouse.

As I said, I find it hellishly uncomfortable for extended use, killing my clicking finger. There are many others who'll disagree though.

The problem with the two Razer mice is that the Abyssus doesn't have any thumb buttons (a couple of them would suffice) and the Lachesis looks ugly in my opinion. I realize that looks have nothing to do with perfomance but you know how these things are.
I'm really starting to like the corsair m60. Very well made, good sensor and awful software that's still in beta. Another solution would be to get the cheap but apparently good spawn mouse and keep it untill springtime when this one comes out BMW's DesignworksUSA, Thermaltake reveal Level 10 M gaming mouse concept -- Engadget
