    I have a GateWay FX P6831 Its 17 inchs...

Its been pretty tough finding a cooler for this but I might have found a good one

Is it worth a buy? Ive heard bad things about plastic coolers so I decided to go for aluminum

Here is the bottom of my laptop

Im trying to find a fan that will keep those vents cool

will this get the job done?

So to pretty much explain it all Im looking for a cooler to keep this laptop running at not high temps since I play in a not so ventilated area..

Money is no real issue I have plenty

The images of the laptop are not mine, I got them off a website advertising this laptop

Let me just say, this is the first post I've seen that the person actually did some of their own research and provided pics of their laptop and looked at options already. Kudos to you.

Judging by the vents, the main one is on the top left. The thing about the Zalman NC2000, although a nice cooler, is that it doesn't cool the top. Same with the Rosewill although I don't know if that one is a good cooler.

Take a look at this beast:

It will do better because their are vents available at the top.

the cryo is almost a bit overhyped. it's not the holy grail of cooling. in fact, the zalman nc2000 cools my m15x better than the cryo lx, even though the m15x has all the vents at the back. the cold air streams around the whole notebook however, and my temps drop noticably with the cooler.

    Thanks for all the support.

It says it takes up two USB ports, does this mean I lose them forever or something? OR does it just mean it uses them up for the time I'm gaming.

I have a P-7811FX, no cooler, just elevating the back side up 2cm. No issue with heat.

    cheers ...

I have a Antec cooler S for travel.... and an NC2000 for my home dock.... they both work great in cooling my 6860FX which is pretty much the same as your laptop... look into the Zalman NC2000 though, there should be a few cooling benchmarks throughout the forums
