I recently ordered a Dell Inspiron E1505 notebook. I didn't buy any accessories with it in hopes friends and relatives would get me some of this stuff for X-mas. What are some good all-around accessories that are nice to have, and don't put a hole in your wallet. I'm going to want a TV Tuner that works with MCE, And I will also want a backpack carrying case. Any other suggestions would be great. Thanks.

I would suggest getting a nice mouse and a nice set of headphones. Nice mouse I would probably go with the logitech G5(under $50) and for the headphones I would go with the Sennheiser PX100($40 newegg) of the PMX100($30 newegg).

Bluetooth mouse if you have BT, otherwise maybe a nice wireless mouse. I have the v270 BT mouse and love it. It won't break the bank either. I second the idea of headphones. While the e1505 doesn't have shabby speakers, sometimes you want to listen without waking up your roommate or just want better sound quality. Might want to get a USB key or some blank dvd/cds.

enjoy the new computer! The wait is exciting and frustrating... :)

The e1505 is a great machine for the cash.

Congrat!! on yer E1505 I also have E1505 and it works great!! I upgraded my ram to 2GB 667MHZ at 159.99 + tax and couldn't be any happier!!! Get backpack or messenger bag for your laptop if you carry yer laptop around a lot. I strongly suggest MobileEdge Secure Backpack if you are a student. If you do any video editing or have lots of video files, how about an external hard drive??? I got one 320GB external hard drive.

P.S I am not sure if it's just me, but my AIM(5.9) kept crashing when I exit without signing off and I upgraded my ram to 2GB and the problem was solved.

Sorry, a USB key is just another name for a usb flash drive, jump drive, thumb drive..etc.

It's a hunk of flash memory with a USB connector to allow you to plug it into a computer. Used for storage or portable apps.

Awesome ideas guys, I already have a set of headphones that I use for my mp3 player, which I can double as my Laptop headphones. I do like the idea of a wireless mouse and keyboard, could you guys tell me if this is a good deal? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...CategoryId=pcmcat23300050004&id=1099394446885
If that isnt a good deal, would it be cheaper/better to get an external bluetooth mechanism and a bluetooth keyboard+mouse?

I also do plan on getting some blank cd/dvds cause I think I will be doing a lot of burning.

About the backpack, what is a good deal? I just want something that will keep my laptop relatively safe and easy to carry around. If you guys could gimme a link that would be great.

I dont think I'll be upgrading my memory anytime soon, but I eventually will more than likely. What type of Ram does it take anyways?

    Thanks guys keep suggestions coming.

I purchased a Logitech V200 recently. It's wireless but not bluetooth. I like it so far: the only thing is that it doesn't have an on/off button. A good number of wireless mice don't have an on/off button. Go by a CC or BB and check out their wireless mouse sections. The one I got went for $25 at CC.
