I got her a used hp laser jet 1200.

She has an hp laptop with 64bit windows 7 connected with usb

The issue is that the amber light keeps on flashing. I checked all the door to make sure they are closed and there is paper in it.

I looked online and one possible solution was that it was out of toner but I thought my dad tested it when we got it and it was fine.

I am not even able to get a test Page to print and the driver will not install (windows update fails).

Now I tried my crapbook and I had the same issue with the amber light and not being able to print.

    Any ideas?

Have you tried installing drivers from HP instead of using Windows update?
