Well If there is a more easily accessible more accurate way of controlling your PC then why stop the development eh?
Might be fun to play cod4 with nothing but a headset? though it might take some time, don't be surprised if It happens sooner than expected, But I don't think that the mouse will instantly die off (like what petrol powered cars were meant to when electric cars suddenly sprouted?)

Just remember the Personal Computer side of things is a constantly evolving environment... As things get more powerful newer things come along that Innovate the industry and suddenly It Booms into the next generation of computing? like laptops atm, 10 years ago not many people had laptops and if they did they had many more desktops at home. Recently Laptop sales have improved drastically. nvm offtopic but yeah read the article folks might be worth a discussion, thats what the forum's for right?

Heh, saw this on Tom's Hardware and thought it was quite interesting but we'll see how thins go and whether or not people will WANT to switch to something else (I'm still getting used to the trackpad on my laptop)

All these gadgets look pretty cool though.

I agree. I'm still looking for a personal rocketship though. We have the Internet, but I still sit in traffic just like people from 20 years ago.

Is it me or do all those mouses fail?

I know its revolutionary and cool but its not gonna work for practicality.

Might aswell use a wii remote for a mouse and wave it around like a wii-tard

And Dvorak keyboards were supposed to replace QWERTY how many years ago now? Yeah, I don't see the mouse going much of anywhere. I have to admit, they all look cool, but at least these iterations look like they would generate imensely more wrist and hand strain than normal mice. Personally, I'd prefer a TrackPoint style control device over any of them, I think. In fact, rather than spending all this effort on moving parts and stuff, why not just stick 2 or 3 TrackPoints on a control device, make them clickable, and do gesture control with that? Much less finger and wrist movement, so greatly reduced strain. Seems like a good idea to me.

I'm pretty sure they are concept models. Brainstorming ideas. Like the remote that senses where you are in relation to the device? That sounds cool. I remember a video way back where a guy mounted the Wii's IR bar on a set of glasses. He then designed some software where the field of perspective changed as you sidestepped left and right.

Like Time Crisis, except without the pedal. It was cool to watch.

I dont think any of those mice or ideas really appeal to me. If they think mice are dieing they havent used a good mouse or met serious gamers. I will keep my OCZ Eclipse.

I don't think mouse (all varieties) will end soon or in the near future. Perhaps they will develop something advance but still be a mouse.
I have seen Mashable/engadget (not sure) posted a new set of "conceptualized" mouse being developed by Microsoft... some looks funny especially that with "mechanical ears" for clicking.
